Two NYPD officers made a pair of incredible saves during the last three months of 2023.
Officers Desmond Mohan and Kenly Garcia were at Carroll Street Station in Brooklyn when they saw a 50-year-old man fall stuck on the subway track on December 26.
The two of them helped the man off the tracks, and he received medical attention from EMS on the scene.
This heroic rescue came two months after Mohan and Garcia worked with the NYPD harbor unit to rescue a 20-year-old woman trapped under a Brooklyn pier.
The woman was helped into a boat and appeared not to suffer any life-threatening injuries.

The two man previously worked with the NYPD harbor unit to rescue a 20-year-old woman trapped under a Brooklyn pier on October 3
In their most recent rescue, Mohan and Garcia, partners and members of the 76th Precinct, successfully helped the man after he got dizzy and fell onto the subway track.
The man repeatedly told officers that he fell, adding, ‘It hurts bad.’
The NYPD posted a video on X (formerly Twitter) showed Garcia jumping on the tracks and Mohan pulling them both up.
‘We sprung into action and ran over to him. My partner jumped on the transit bed and lifted him up by his legs,’ Mohan said during an interview with Pix 11.
While talking to other officers, Garcia admitted that he didn’t think about how high the tracks were and that he picked the man up by ‘grabbing his leg.’
Officers continued to chat at the ambulance and one said that the situation would’ve been ‘way worse’ if it had been rush hour.
The man had told Mohan and Garcia that he fell and that he must have slipped onto the tracks. He also told officers that ‘it hurts bad’ while they were rescuing him

Officers repeatedly told the woman that they had her and told her to watch her head while they were getting her out from underneath the pear
Mohan and Garcia’s other rescue began after they responded to a 911 call.
The woman was spotted trapped and clinging onto the pier while standing on a beam.
It’s unclear how she got stuck under the pier, but she was attentive and did what the officers asked her to do.
Officers told the woman throughout the ordeal that they had her and to watch her head.
The officer’s rescues have not gone unnoticed by social media, and X users insisted that the cops deserved promotions.
