Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson have called out a producer of their radio show for going rogue during an interview with Dolly Parton.
‘Intern Pete’ Deppeler interviewed the music legend for the KIIS FM hit show but the chat quickly went off the rails.
Deppeler asked the iconic country singer a question about her induction into the hall of fame, before cutting off the 77-year-old midway through her response.
He then asked Dolly to rate his own performance as an interviewer, before asking her to sing a duet with him and quickly admitting he had run out of questions.
A stunned Jackie O said: ‘How did you run out of questions when you only asked her age and [about] the hall of fame?’
‘You should have asked about Miley and there is so much.’
Kyle agreed, adding: ‘How did you end up deciding you were going to do the Dolly Paton interview?’
‘Enough is enough. You get a lot of rope here… There are a million questions.’
Kyle and Jackie O then praised Dolly for handling the cringeworthy interview ‘so well’ and requested a new chat with the music star.
Dolly Parton’s trainwreck interview: Kyle and Jackie O scold their producer after he goes rogue with Q&A with the music legend
‘Intern Pete’ Deppeler interviewed music legend Dolly for the KIIS FM hit show but the chat quickly turned sour
It comes after The Kyle and Jackie O Show was recently plunged into chaos, after a producer unexpectedly quit in the middle of the show, forcing it off the air.
The duo were presenting their show as usual earlier this month when their non-binary producer Kayla made the bombshell announcement.
Upon hearing the news, Kyle was so shocked by it he spilled the coffee they were handing him onto the computer, short circuiting the system and taking them off the air.
‘We’re in a weird studio because I knocked coffee all down the computers. Non-binary Kayla came in and gave me the very sad news,’ he later told listeners.
A stunned Jackie O said: ‘How did you run out of questions when you only asked her age and the hall of fame?’
‘They’re abandoning us to live their own life. As they were handing the coffee over I grabbed it and was in such shock I spilt it all over the equipment.’
The shock incident saw the breakfast show off the air for almost an hour as technicians worked hard to repair the studio and Kyle and Jackie O were moved to a nearby one.
Fortunately, their technicians managed to get them back on the air and Kyle thanked them for their hard work.
