Dolly Parton laughed in the face of retirement as she has been busy working on her latest career move, which is a departure from hitting the stage.

The iconic country star has been working hard at expanding her cookery brand – as she has released a ‘rockin’ new baking collection’ in her Duncan Hines line, which she proudly unveiled on her 78th birthday last week.

She hard launched the baking brand in January 2022, when she released two cake mixes – banana and coconut- and two kinds of frosting to match.

Just a year later, in January 2023, the country queen added cornbread, biscuit, and brownie mixes to her collection, which she revealed she mixes up for husband Carl Dean: ‘My husband’s a big chocolate fan, so I’m always cooking him chocolate’.

Now, Dolly will no doubt delight fans as she has expanded the baking range even further by adding a yellow cake, blueberry muffin, banana nut muffin, cinnamon swirl crumb cake and chocolate cake mixes.

The blonde beauty has also added a new creamy chocolate buttercream frosting.

Dolly’s collection, which is only available in the US, is at an affordable pricepoint ranging from her original mixes at $1.54 up to $4.37.

The reasonably priced collection features an illustration of Dolly in her younger years alongside a snap of the cakes on offer.

To celebrate Dolly’s latest venture, convenience baking giant Duncan Hines released a limited-edition rockstar kit featuring all her latest products and more for just $40.

Unfortunately for Brits, her range can not be shipped to the UK and is a US-exclusive brand – for the time being.

Dolly has spent years chatting about how much she loves baking, especially for her husband of 57 years, Carl.

And she was so eager to get the ball rolling with her new career move that she even sacrificed her birthday celebration on Friday.

She told Business Insider: ‘Nothing wrong with working on your birthday if you’re getting good stuff done, right?’

‘I loved co-creating my Duncan Hines line with Conagra, and I’m thrilled we’re going well beyond the baking aisle with new items across the store,’ she said in a statement. ‘We’re looking to continue to inspire special moments in the kitchen, with some of my family’s favorite recipes, and I think people are really going to love them!’

The collection is only available to purchase on Duncan Hines’ Baking With Dolly website. The range is in partnership with North American food giant Conagra Brands.

Her launch comes just days after the backlash Elle King has received for her ‘slurring’ performance at a show celebrating Dolly Parton’s 78th birthday.

Insiders told The Daily Mail the country music icon would still be happy to take the stage with the singer.

Elle, 34, caused a furore among fans at the Grand Ole Opry on Friday when she appeared ‘hammered’ during a performance at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry in Ryman Auditorium – leading to an apology from the venue.

The singer, who is the daughter of Rob Schneider, was seen slurring her words and saying the F-word multiple times during the set, before admitting on stage she was ‘hammered.’

Though fans were left furious by the display, a source revealed to DailyMail.com that Dolly had no intention of saying anything negative about the hitmaker.

‘Dolly in no way is going to bash Elle for her performance at the Opry, that is not Dolly’s style and that will not be Dolly’s intention to take down another artist, especially a fellow female artist,’ the insider explained.

They continued: ‘Dolly doesn’t begin to know what Elle might be going through, if it was just one bad night or something more, but Dolly will not drag Elle in any way, Dolly isn’t going to tear her down.

‘This might actually end up leading to something positive and special down the line where they perform together.’

The source added that Parton would likely try and take the opportunity to uplift the singer as they added: ‘Dolly is all about building people up and this unfortunate incident is just that, a bump in the road.

‘Dolly is going to see it through and expect the best and if she ever talks or sees or performs with Elle in the future, it will all be positive because that is where Dolly’s mindset is at all the time.’
