Multiple guests were trapped on Walt Disney World Resort’s monorail after they heard a boom and saw a flash of light before it became stuck on tracks Tuesday.
The passengers have been evacuated after emergency crews rushed to the scene near the EPCOT parking lot toll plaza, Florida.
The train stopped after it experienced a flat tire, a Disney World spokesperson confirmed with FOX35 after the incident.
After a ‘loud band explosion’ and ‘a big flash of light,’ the train slowed down and became stuck, Kris Lenk told the outlet.
The passenger, who was trapped on the monorail, said he could smell the smoke and burning rubber.
It took more than an hour to evacuate a total of 71 passengers and no injuries were reported, according to the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District.

The most serious accident, which occurred in 2009, was proven to be fatal when a train collision claimed the life of a 21-year-old driver.
In July 2009, one train rammed into the back of a stationary carriage as it was ferrying tourists from the Magic Kingdom section of the park on the last run of the day.
There was only a family-of-five and two employees on board. The driver, Austin Wuennenberg, had to be cut out of his cab but died before he could be taken to hospital.
It was the first and only fatal accident in the Disney World monorail’s 52-year history.
Then in 2018, a red monorail was seen carrying passengers around the theme park with a carriage door wide open.
A passenger recorded the video while she was on board the monorail traveling to the Epcot theme park in Orlando.
Park-goers can be seen on the ground below in some parts of the video and a female passenger can also be seen sitting near the open door as she grips onto a pole.
A Disney spokesperson said the red line monorail was immediately removed from service following the incident.
‘We regret this occurred. Safety is our most important concern,’ the spokesperson said.
