Dianne Buswell has said her boyfriend Joe Sugg is ‘supportive’ of her close friendship with her Strictly Come Dancing partner Bobby Brazier.

The professional dancer, 34, met her partner, 32, when he starred on the 16th series of the BBC competition in 2018.

This year she is partnered with EastEnders actor Bobby, 20, with Dianne adding that Joe understands the intensity of her job, giving that he was once a contestant.

Speaking to The Mirror on Saturday, she explained: ‘I barely get to see him much. But he understands. He was one of the contestants, so he understands how much time and energy it takes and how much the show means to me.

‘He’s always supportive. Whatever I do with my dancing, he knows it’s my job and it’s my passion, and he’s always been so supportive of me and Bobby.’

In the interview Dianne explained that Bobby had met Joe a few times and added they will remain ‘friends for life’.

Praising the actor for his positive attitude, she continued: ‘I love the fact he puts so much passion and energy into each performance and that’s what I fell in love with in dancing, the whole telling a story aspect, and Bobby does that.’

Earlier this week, Dianne and Bobby discussed their intense performance during Saturday night’s show, that ended in a passionate near-kiss.

The professional dancer and the EastEnders star appeared on Good Morning Britain on Tuesday morning to reflect on their routine.

However, Bobby made a blunder and got stuck in traffic on the way, forcing him to join via video link from his car and leaving Dianne in the studio alone.

He apologised to the hosts, saying: ‘I don’t know what to say I’m sorry guys, forgive me.’

But he then turned the blame on Dianne, accusing: ‘You didn’t call me this morning, usually she calls me!’

Dianne defended herself, saying: ‘I do, but this morning I was too busy getting myself ready.’

The pair then discussed the public reaction to their steamy routine at the weekend, after they set tongues wagging with their almost kiss.

The couple danced the Argentine Tango to Sail by AWLONATION and placed in the middle of the leaderboard with 30 points out of 40.

At the end of the dance, Dianne slid over on her knees into Bobby’s arms as they embraced, foreheads pressed against one another.

Discussing the passionate moment, Dianne explained: ‘The thing I love so much about dancing is being able to tell a story. It’s like acting isn’t it.

‘We obviously did the dance the correct way if people are saying that [romance rumours] then we did a good job with it.”

Bobby added that the routine had been his favourite dance so far, saying: ‘The story and the intensity and the emotion of it, I loved. Listen, I am ready to turn it all the way up! I enjoy it.’

It comes after Bobby hit back at a fan who complained about feeling ‘uncomfortable’ watching the dance.

Commenting on Instagram, the viewer said that the routine overstepped the line, writing: ‘Love Dianne she’s an amazing dancer and teacher and like Bobby but it felt uncomfortable to watch for me and the end kiss was far too intense. The dance was impeccable just didn’t like how intimate it looked.’

But Bobby took to the comments to shoot back, by simply penning: ‘Job done’.

Dianne has reportedly been ‘hit hard’ over the scrutiny of her five-year relationship with Joe Sugg due to her close bond with Bobby.

The professional dancer is said to be upset over ‘cruel remarks’ after Bobby declared his love for her.

Insiders close to Dianne say she is ‘very much still together’ with Joe, 32, but is feeling down after being bombarded by taunts from overzealous supporters of the YouTuber.

‘The cruel remarks she has read about her relationship with Bobby – who has been really supportive – have hit her hard,’ a source told The Mirror .

‘Her and Joe are still very much together and he has also been very supportive, and made it clear publicly that he has her back.’
