Denise Richards put on a brave face as she stepped out with her daughter Eloise for the first time since her estranged husband Aaron Phypers claimed his adoption of the teen was never made official.
While stocking up on groceries at Erewhon in Los Angeles over the holiday weekend, the actress, 54, rocked a fitted purple T-shirt, light-wash jeans and a trucker hat.
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star opted to shield her eyes behind oversized sunglasses as she pushed a grocery cart brimming with bags to her car.
Meanwhile, Eloise, 14, looked adorable in a black dress, with a smoothie in hand, by her mom’s side.
The pair’s outing comes just days after Phypers, 52, alleged in explosive new court documents that Richards ‘failed’ to properly file adoption paperwork, despite having him sign the papers years ago.
He claimed he is now legally without his daughter ‘despite raising her as his own,’ and described Eloise as ‘his daughter by bond of over nine years.’

Denise Richards breaks silence on 's****y' Aaron Phypers heartbreak
Phypers has always called Eloise his daughter on social media.
In an Instagram post from 2019 he shared a photo of them spending time together with a caption that included the hashtag ‘father & daughter.’
Over the years, Richards had also shared photos of Phypers with Eloise, including one of him sweetly braiding her hair.
Phypers married Richards in 2018 and publicly announced his adoption of Eloise the following year, telling People: ‘It wasn’t even a decision. It just is. She’s sweetheart. I love her. I think of her as my own.’
The adoption row is the latest twist in their acrimonious divorce, which has already seen claims of abuse, restraining orders and disputes over pets.
Richards addressed the split earlier this week in an emotional Instagram video, admitting she had endured a ‘s****y summer’ and calling the breakup ‘a very difficult time.’

‘There is obviously something going on,’ she said referring to her divorce. ‘It’s so hard to go through a divorce… this isn’t my first one, it’s my second one!’ said the movie icon.
And the Wild Things actress added that she ‘never’ thought they would divorce after she called it quits with Charlie.
‘This has been a very difficult time and there are circumstances around my divorce that are difficult to talk about, which one day I will talk about it when the time is right – I just want to process everything and get through this,’ she said as she was interrupted by a dog barking.
‘It has not been easy, so your messages me a lot,’ she said to her fans.
Phypers and Richards were married for six years before he filed for divorce on July 7.
She later accused him of physical abuse and was granted a temporary restraining order on July 16, though he has denied her claims.

Phypers previously claimed Richards had shown no interest in their pets for the last two years.
Richards currently has a restraining order in place against her estranged husband, ensuring he stays at least 100 yards away from her, so when she showed up to his house for the dog, he immediately left the property.
However, according to audio obtained by People, an emergency dispatcher said Aaron told them after leaving that he ‘fears for his parents’.
According to TMZ, police were called when the actress barged in and demanded the dog, screaming at Aaron’s parents ‘to get out of the house and putting her finger in their faces.’
