Deion Sanders has reportedly added ex-Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich to his staff at Colorado.
The former NFL quarterback, a first-round draft pick back in 2003, helped Tom Brady lead Tampa Bay to glory at Super Bowl LV.
After a decade-long playing career that saw him play for the Jaguars, the Falcons, the Steelers and the Bucs, Leftwich moved into coaching.
He worked in various roles – including interim offensive coordinator – for the Arizona Cardinals between 2016 and 2018 before moving to Tampa Bay.
Leftwich served as offensive coordinator for the Buccaneers until he was fired by Todd Bowles after the 2022 season.
According to Fox Sports, he has recently interviewed for a number of NFL coaching jobs – including head coach of the Patriots and offensive coordinator of the Seahawks.

But Leftwich has now decided to move into college football and join the Buffaloes in Boulder.
The news comes a day after Leftwich was spotted at practice holding a clipboard and wearing Colorado football gear.
Earlier this week, Sanders said Colorado would make ‘a couple more huge moves’ this week. But he has not confirmed Leftwich’s arrival.
Sanders took charge of Colorado back in 2023, bringing both his son Shedeur and Travis Hunter from Jackson State.
Quarterback Shedeur and two-way star Hunter have now left to chase their NFL dreams.
Hunter has vowed to prove to Travis Kelce that he can play both offense and defense in the NFL next season.
He won the Heisman Trophy after starring as both a wide receiver and cornerback in college football.
Kelce was one of those who warned Hunter that the challenge of playing both sides of the ball could be too great.
But the 21-year-old claimed: ‘Like he (Kelce) said, I have to prove that I can do it… I’m going to prove that I’m going to do it, and I can do it.’
