Dallas Cowboys lost again on Sunday afternoon in the NFL but it was compounded by quarterback Dak Prescott getting ruled out during the game due to a hamstring injury.

The Cowboys now drop to 3-5 after losing to Atlanta Falcons and have an NFC East matchup next week against Philadelphia Eagles.

Prescott also appeared to have an injury to his right hand at the end of the third quarter and will have an MRI on his leg on Monday. He said of the injury that he ‘felt something he never felt before.’

The team confirmed it was the hamstring injury which knocked the quarterback out of the game.

Prescott completed 18 of 24 passes for 133 yards and one touchdown with no interceptions, ending his streak of three consecutive games with two interceptions. Prescott had three carries for 30 yards.

Cooper Rush replaced Prescott for the Cowboys, who lost 27-21.

Owner Jerry Jones was quizzed about Prescott missing time after the game.

‘Well, I am concerned about that,’ Jones said. ‘It concerned me when I saw the play, when I saw him have a reaction and any weakness that he might have had there. We just have to take a look at that.

‘I’ll be very candid with you, we’ve got to give Rush a little positive here, not a little. He came in there and I am proud of him. I thought he played well.’

Prescott himself said after the game that it’ll be a race against the clock to make the Eagles game but added: ‘It’ll take a lot for me not to be out there.’

Trailing 27-13, Rush led the Cowboys on a 14-play, 86-yard drive which resulted in a four-yard touchdown to Jalen Tolbert with 1:32 left.

Rush then found Lamb for the two-point conversion, but Atlanta’s Kyle Pitts recovered the ensuing onside kick to secure the victory.
