SpongeBob fans are not impressed by Wendy’s new take on the Krabby Patty – with some calling the $14 meal a ‘scam.’

In celebration of the popular cartoon’s 25th anniversary, the fast food restaurant partnered with Paramount to launch the highly anticipated ‘Wendy’s Krabby Patty Kollab’ meal.

On October 8, the first SpongeBob-inspired burger was cooked up and customers eagerly waited in line to order.

But when some people finally had the chance to taste the meal, which featured a cheeseburger, a side of fries, and a ‘Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty,’ they were left deeply disappointed.

In a video that has over 2.4 million views, TikTok user Noah offered his brutal opinion on the collaboration.

‘We are completely getting scammed with this Krabby Meal s***,’ Noah narrated.

Over the video, text appeared that said: ‘Don’t buy the krabby patty meal it’s a scam.’

Noah initially aimed his criticism at the Krabby Patty itself, saying that it was just a ‘Dave’s Double with some Big Mac sauce.’

According to Wendy’s, there are some differences between their SpongBob-themed burger and a Dave’s Double.

But the slippery distinction ultimately boils down to the number of cheese slices, the types of sauces used, and the amount of meat.

Noah was equally disappointed with Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty.

‘This frosty is horrible,’ the TikToker said, stirring the drink’s viscous yellowish substance.

‘Mine was insanely watery and all they did was take a vanilla frosty and stick some pineapple goo at the bottom.’

According to Wendy’s website, Noah wasn’t far off the mark here.  The Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is indeed made from the vanilla frosty and ‘Pineapple Mango flavored puree swirl.’

The fast food restaurant hailed this combination as a ‘first-of-its-kind Frosty flavor innovation.’

Noah continued to trash his meal, telling viewers that ‘of course his fries were cold.’

‘There’s nothing cool that comes in this meal. There’s no special box,’ he said, showing the normal Wendy’s bag to the camera.

‘They’re scamming us out of $14 for this s***,’ Noah said as he threw the meal into the trash.

‘Wendy’s I’m disappointed,’ he said at the end. ‘What the H*** is this?’

In the comments section, viewers commiserated with each other about their disappointing experiences.

‘They burnt my shake, one user said.

‘I got a Krabby Patty meal for all four of my family members so we’re talking almost $50 for a meal,’ another person wrote, before adding ‘it was so disappointing.’

Other viewers defended Wendy’s and chalked Noah’s underwhelming experience up to the particular location he visited.

‘I think it depends on what location you go to in terms of packaging because my brother just sent me a picture of the entire meal and it came in a fun box and cool packaging,’ someone commented.

The collaboration between Wendy’s and SpongeBob SquarePants was announced on October 2.

In their press release, the fast food company said: ‘In a world of people cutting corners, Wendy’s is known for quality in everything we do.

‘So, it makes sense that two of the most iconic squares in pop culture are teaming up to bring a taste of this unique, limited-time experience to life for fans of all ages!’
