Christian Wilkins is branching out from his father’s fame and forming his own path.
The 28-year-old aspiring actor, who is the son of Channel Nine’s long-serving entertainment editor Richard Wilkins, revealed in this week’s issue of Stellar magazine that he’s no longer living in the shadow of his father.
‘I’m so close with my dad, but it’s also stepping out from his shadow,’ he told the magazine.
‘I think people look at me and are like, ‘Oh, there actually is a place for him as an individual.”
‘It’s not just being someone’s son. I have something to provide for myself and I think that is really exciting. I find that very rewarding.’

The socialite opened up on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show last week about the vile death threats he received for daring to wear a dress.
‘I was definitely shocked. I had, without exaggeration, thousands and thousands of tweets and messages,’ he told podcast host Jessica Rowe.
‘If I find beauty in a garment, regardless of if it’s a dress or pants or a blouse, I want to wear it because I love beautiful things, and I love the experience of putting on something and becoming a different side of myself’ he said
