Chris Pratt loves working on the animated film The Garfield Movie as much as the titular character loves lasagna.
The 44-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy star – who recently missed out on a Parks and Recreation reunion – took to his Instagram on Tuesday to let his fans know he’s back to voicing the funny feline following the end of the actor’s strike.
Rocking a baseball cap, scraggly mustache and a goofy grin, Chris was seen in a studio in front of a microphone, pages of a script and a monitor with an image of the Monday-hating orange cat.
Also spotted on the script easel was a can of the energy drink Jocko Go.
The handsome matinee idol captioned the fun post, ‘Strike over. Back in action. LETS GO!! #Garfield #JockoGO’

Big love: Chris loves working on the animated film The Garfield Movie as much as the titular character loves lasagna
The behind-the-scenes peek at his voice over gig comes a week after the first trailer dropped for The Garfield Movie.
The synopsis describes the movie as the ‘world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat is about to have a wild outdoor adventure.’
Alongside Pratt, other actors voicing characters in the film include Samuel L. Jackson, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, Ving Rhames and Bowen Yang.
‘After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father — scruffy street cat Vic (Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist,’ the synopsis continued.
Pratt was cast as the voice of Garfield in November 2021 and at the time wrote, ‘Well this Monday doesn’t suck….,’ on Instagram alongside a photo of Garfield looking satisfied.
There were two previous animated Garfield films with Bill Murray voicing the cat in 2004’s Garfield: The Movie and its sequel Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties in 2006.
Chris’s IG post also follows his former Parks And Recreation costars Aubrey Plaza and Amy Poehler reunited for a dinner in New York City over the weekend.
It was a crossover event of sorts, as they also dined with Aubrey’s White Lotus costar Michael Imperioli, as well as Criminal Minds actor Matthew Gray Gubler, with whom she appeared when she guested on his series years earlier.

However, Chris did join his former cast mates when they walked the picket line together in support of the SAG-AFTRA strike.
He shares photos of himself along with Plaza, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott, Ben Schwartz, Retta, Jim O’Heir, Kirk Fox, Susan Yeagley, Colton Dunn, Allan McLeod, Alison Becker and Joe Mande.
‘The Parks gang went picketing today. I couldn’t be there, but I stand in solidarity with them. #SAGAFTRAstrong #SAGAFTRAstrike,’ he wrote in the caption.
Garfield will debut in theaters on May 24, 2024.
