alert-–-cher,-77,-gets-a-kiss-from-boyfriend-alexander-edwards,-38,-as-he-supports-her-at-2024-iheartradio-music-awardsAlert – Cher, 77, gets a kiss from boyfriend Alexander Edwards, 38, as he supports her at 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Cher had her longtime boyfriend Alexander Edwards by her side on Monday as she was honored at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

The 77-year-old living legend was presented with the Icon Award and the 38-year-old music executive was there to cheer her on.

Alexander, who posed provocatively with the singer earlier this year, planted a kiss on her cheek as they strolled the red carpet at Dolby Theatre.

Cher beamed as her long, jet black hair fell around her face in soft waves parted down the middle.

She was clad in a plunging, black Dolce & Gabbana top with chunky stone accents and she added wide-leg black pants with silver chains.

iHeart is ‘honoring her unparalleled contributions to music and pop culture for over seven decades,’ said a press release shared ahead of Monday’s event.

Cher, who has hits dating back to the 1960s with I Got You Babe and was on the popular The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour in the 1970s, is the only artist to have a number one single on a Billboard chart for seven consecutive decades.

Edwards, who first went public with the entertainer in fall 2022, wore a black suit and white shirt.

His short, textured hair was dark at the roots and bleach blonde at the top.

Edwards, who shares four-year-old son Slash with Amber Rose, flashed his glinting custom grillz while posing for cameras.

Nominations for the ceremony were announced in January, with Taylor Swift, Jelly Roll, 21 Savage, SZA and Olivia Rodrigo leading the pack.

Artists who received multiple nominations included 21 Savage, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Blink-182, Carin León, David Kushner, Doechii, Doja Cat, Drake, Dua Lipa, Fall Out Boy, Foo Fighters, Grupo Frontera, Ice Spice, Jelly Roll.

The awards aired LIVE on FOX, and was also broadcast on iHeartRadio stations nationwide and on the iHeartRadio app.

Looking back on her long career during her acceptance speech, Cher said she is ‘lucky to have people that have stayed with me all these years.’

The icon also noted to the audience, ‘most of you weren’t born’ at the start of her ascent to fame.

‘I don’t usually talk about it, but I have been down and out so many times you could not believe it,’ she went on to reveal.

‘Dropped by record companies, couldn’t get a job… they said, “Oh, she’s so over.” But I never gave up my dream,’ the star said, per Billboard.

She advised: ‘Have a dream and don’t give it up no matter what happens. If you have a dream and stick with it, you will have a wonderful life and it will probably come true.’
