Celebrity chef Khanh Ong has shared a life-changing cooking hack which left his ‘mind blown’.

The MasterChef star, 30, took to Instagram on Friday to reveal a genius hack for cooking corn in the microwave.

He gave his stamp of approval to a technique he found online detailing how to easily remove the corn husk from the inner cob.

Khanh explained how whenever he cooks corn in the microwave, the tassel always gets stuck to the cob, making it difficult to remove.

However, he then said he would be trying out a new hack, filming himself as he simply cut the bottom of the husk off before microwaving the corn.

Upon taking the cooked corn out of the microwave, he was then easily able to slide the cob out of the husk, without any of the outer tassel getting stuck to the food.

Sharing his shock that it actually worked, Khanh gushed that his mind was ‘blown’ and said even though it was an ‘obscure’ problem, he was thrilled to have a solution.

He said: ‘That is so satisfying! I love this hack, I’m giving this hack a 9/10, just because there was one piece still stuck on it, but it’s a pretty good hack!’

‘I know it’s a small issue that most people won’t have to deal with, but it’s changed my life.’

In a caption, he added: ‘Mind blown. I know it’s not a big thing but I’m obsessed with this. Also I’m making my Chinese style chicken and sweet corn soup today. Hence the corn. Enjoy. Give me more hacks.’

Taking to the comments section, his fans were quick to share their delight with the hack as they vowed to adopt it in their own cooking.

They wrote: ‘Wow! Actually?! I can’t believe that worked so easily…;’ ‘Best hack ever (coming from a corn loving farm girl!)!!!;’ ‘That’s beautiful;’

‘This is a life changer omg;’ ‘That is brilliant!! Thank you!;’ ‘It was 9.9/10 hack.’

However, other fans shared their amused reactions that Khanh hadn’t discovered the technique sooner, admitting they had been doing it for years.

They said: ‘Where have you been?;’ ‘Yes! I do this. Also found on the internet. I use a tea towel to help squeeze it out.’

‘Yes this is a good one!! I do it too but I don’t bother with the water;’
