CBeebies legend Mr Tumble has announced his brand new role, weeks after stepping back from the show.

Mr Tumble, the beloved character played by Justin Fletcher, 54, has been a fan favourite on BBC screens for over 20 years as the sole host of Something Special.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Justin would be taking a step back from the show full-time, with three co-hosts joining him to share the workload.

Now, just weeks after that announcement, it’s been revealed that Justin has landed a brand-new role – and viewers can get involved!

For the first time in three years, Justin will be heading out on tour, launching the Justin Time To Rock shows this October in Bromley.

While tour dates are currently announced through November, Justin promises to stay on the road until spring 2026. Tickets for most shows are expected to go on sale tomorrow.

Speaking about heading out on the road once again, Justin said: ‘I’m so excited to be going out on tour this year in our brand-new show Justin Time to Rock.’

‘We really enjoy travelling around the country, performing our shows, and meeting so many friends.’

‘We can’t wait to put the band together and dance and sing along to some fabulous party songs.’

A teaser synopsis for the show reads: ‘Justin and his friends are putting together a Rock band.’

‘But with so many songs to choose from, they are going to need your help to choose the best songs to sing and dance to.’

Justin’s Something Special has become one of the BBC’s most popular children’s programmes.

The show, which airs on CBeebies, uses Makaton signs, speech, and symbols to help children communicate and develop their language skills in a fun and exciting way.

In a major shakeup that will change the show forever, the new series of Something Special will see Justin joined by two additional presenters: Maddie Moate and Ben Cajee, with George Webster also coming on board throughout the series.

TV presenter Maddie – who is known for presenting CBeebies show Maddie’s Do You Know? – took to Instagram last month to share the exciting news.

Alongside a selfie with Mr Tumble, her on set and with the rest of the crew, she wrote: ‘Last year I was lucky to be part of something special… THE ‘Something Special’, now in its 14th series, starring the much loved Mr Tumble and Justin Fletcher!’

‘For anyone who’s unfamiliar with the show, Something Special is a children’s TV programme that uses @makaton signs, speech and symbols to help children learn how to communicate and develop their language skills in a fun and exciting way.’

‘The new series remains the same happy, welcoming place (featuring lots of Mr Tumble!), but with the addition of a few friendly familiar Cbeebies faces!’

‘@ben_cajee and myself all joined the team and had the chance to guide the children as they looked for clues and tried to find their spotty surprise!’

Maddie won a BAFTA Children’s Awards for best presenter back in 2017.

Meanwhile Ben, who has worked on CBeebes since 2015, also took to his social media page to open up about the exciting venture.

Ben wrote: ‘Got the nod to be part of the new presenting line up on Something Special.’

‘When I was younger, other than opening the batting for England or running West Ham’s midfield, I didn’t know what I wanted to do for work. That’s still the case now.’

‘I thought it would be cool to be around sport, with children and in broadcasting – and feel fortunate to be able to do those things.’

‘This iconic show is entering its 14th season and the legacy and responsibility for these children and the audience isn’t lost on me.’

‘I’ll always do my best and promise to look after the show and hopefully do it justice, both now and in the future.’

‘The first episode drops on my birthday, Monday 13th January. Ironic. I appreciate the gift and opportunity.’
