Cate Blanchett looked stunning as she arrived at the Disclaimer premiere during the 81st Venice International Film Festival on Thursday.
The actress, 55, walked the red carpet in an extreme plunging jumpsuit with a low back after joking she would be arriving ‘naked’ to the premiere of her new project.
The elegant one piece featured delicate strings of pearls, shoulder pads and wide leg trousers.
When asked what she planned to wear before the event, Cate had said: ‘Nothing. I’m going naked.’
On Wednesday she stunned in Armani Prive on the festival’s opening night, worn with a long row of diamonds and pearls around her shoulders, an echo of what she wore to the Baftas this spring.

She is here with her adopted daughter Edith, nine and is promoting Alfonso Cuaron’s seven part revenge thriller, Disclaimer, for Apple TV+.
The star was joined at the event by chief executive officer of Apple, Tim Cooke, who is also expected to join Amal and George Clooney, and Brad Pitt on the red carpet on Sunday for George’s new film Wolfs.
The actor welcomed Tim to his $100 million 18th century Lake Como villa on Wednesday before heading out on a boat for dinner at the five-star hotel Villa Passalacqua.
Cate was on slightly combative form in her press conference, brushing off enquiries which she felt were nonsense.
When asked how she had approached her role as a documentary-maker with a secret ‘as a woman’ she said: ‘Well, I always approach every role as a woman because I am one. I don’t really think about that.’
In the TV series, her character finds an accusation in a novel written by a lonely old man that she is responsible for the death by drowning of a young man with whom she had an affair many years previously.
The series deals with shaming, and families, and secrets and lies, and the delight of the mob in pointing the finger.

Disclaimer will tell the tale of documentary filmmaker Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate) who receives a mysterious novel titled The Perfect Stranger on her nightstand
Catherine Ravenscroft has a doting husband, played by Sacha Baron Cohen, and a son, played by Kodi Smit-McPhee, who seems to hate her.
Cate said that she had tried to harness the ‘power of judgement’ in her portrayal of the journalist, noting: ‘Almost as soon as you meet her and you know nothing about her you hear what other people say about her.
‘It was a challenge not to reveal too much. It was almost like she was a glass of water into which other characters and the audience projected.
‘The people who transposed their judgement onto the character knew nothing about her at all.
‘She is a woman who has a very fractured relationship with her son and consequently her husband doesn’t understand her view. In families people can live their lives quite independently. You often think you understand your family members but do not.
‘When you meet Catherine she has an impeccable reputation for doing the right thing and being on the right side of things but … there are secrets and lies which we tell ourselves.’
Cate spoke against public shaming and said that sometimes people kept things secret out of a need to process them themselves and through a desire for privacy.
‘I don’t mean that people should not be held accountable,’ she said. ‘we are very private people and it doesn’t necessarily mean that we are doing something nefarious.’

Disclaimer will tell the tale of documentary filmmaker Catherine Ravenscroft (Cate) who receives a mysterious novel titled The Perfect Stranger on her nightstand.
Catherine is described as ‘a successful and respected television documentary journalist’ who has built a career out of revealing the transgressions of beloved institutions, before her whole life is upturned by the delivery.

At first intrigued by the novel, Catherine quickly discovers it is not fiction, but rather a recreation of the day Catherine ‘became hostage to a dark secret, a secret that only one other person knew – and that person is dead’, according to the synopsis.
The only other person who knew this secret – or so she thought – is dead, as she finds herself confronting the truth about that awful and fateful day.
Forced into a ‘living nightmare’, Catherine’s only hope is to confront what happened on that fateful day, even if ‘the truth might destroy her’.
It began production in June 2022 and filming across London, Mexico, and Sydney, before wrapping in February last year.
