Aussies have been left stumped after trying to find a dangerous creature lurking in plain sight in a photograph of a flood-ravaged Queensland town.

The photograph was taken over a park in Wujal Wujal, in far north Queensland, on Wednesday.

Queensland Premier Steven Miles shared a picture to social media platform X.

‘I took this from the air in Wujal Wujal. Check out what used to be the town splash park. It’s full of mud – but that’s not the surprise,’ he wrote.

‘Zoom in to see.’

Mr Miles was visiting the rural town, four hours north of Cairns, as the cleanup continues following the aftermath of Cyclone Jasper.

The region was pummelled by record flooding and a heavy deluge of rain in December.

‘I’m in FNQ (far north Queensland) checking on our ongoing work to help communities like Wujal Wujal recover from Cyclone Jasper,’ Mr Miles wrote.

‘We won’t rest til (sic) it’s done and the crocs are back where they belong.’

Social media users were left baffled trying to spot the dangerous creature that was lurking in plain sight.

‘I can’t see anything??’ one wrote.

‘Zoomed in and…what? What should I be seeing?,’ another wrote.

One eagle-eyed viewer managed to spot the dangerous creature was lurking in the enclosed playground.

‘Is that a crocodile!?’ they wrote.

Others managed to find the crocodile that had made its way inside the playground that had once been inundated by floodwaters.

‘Crocodile in the splash pool,’ one user said.

‘There’s a croc’ in the playground,’ another wrote.

Wujal Wujal was among several towns across north Queensland hit by the damaging storms as a result of Cyclone Jasper.

Several towns received up to a massive 500mm of rain in 24 hours while winds gusts of 100km/h uprooted trees and brought down powerlines when the category two storm hit.

Ten’s of thousands were left without power with dozens of homes damaged by flooding as emergency crews rushed to evacuate hundreds of locals in badly affected areas.
