Camila Cabello has revealed the reason behind her new look as she posed on the cover of Puss Puss magazine with her new platinum-blonde locks.
The hitmaker, 26, admitted that she dyed her trademark brunette tresses to embrace a new era of her life, because her dark hair was mostly how people ‘perceived’ her.
And in need of a change-up, Camila showcased her gorgeous blonde locks as she graced the February 2024 issue.
Speaking about her new look, Camila said: ‘I feel like my dark hair was such a big part of my identity to me and also to the way people perceive me.
‘I just kind of wanted to have fun and be a chameleon and change.’

Camila looked sensational in a short-sleeved black top as she struck a sultry pose with her arms up in the air.
In another snap, the singer slipped into a faux-leather oversized jacket, teamed with chunky trainers.
Also shedding light on her upcoming music, Camila shared her new album is part of a ‘reinvention’.
She said: ‘I think it is part of a kind of reinvention. I feel like so much of the album has a through line and there’s definitely more themes that the album touches.’
It comes after Camila hit a dance studio where she struck a number of poses during a brief break from all the action.
In the cover photo, the Havana, Cuba native can be seen laying on her stomach staring off into the distance dressed in skimpy blue shorts and a white crop top over a blue bra.
Feeling playful and a bit edgy, Cabello flipped the bird towards the camera in the final image of the post, where she declared she was ‘bending over backwards for you.’
She also took to her instagram Stories to share a closeup photo of herself laying back on her stomach in the same outfit at the studio, writing in the caption: ‘big kiss.’

The quote about ‘bending over backwards’ is likely a reference to the all moves she was pulling off in the studio.
It could also be referring to her promise to release new music in the new year of 2024, which she announced along with a photo of herself with her new blonde tresses while in the recording studio.
The singer spoke to Rolling Stone in November and shared a brief update about the possibility of upcoming music.
‘I’m always scheming, but I won’t say too much about it because I love a calculated surprise,’ she said at the time when asked if the new music was ready to be released. ‘I can’t say anything.’
While she was careful not to give too much away, Cabello did confess she has been ‘really consuming a lot of new art and a lot of new references,’ in the effort to create new sounds.
‘A lot of new music, new movies, new novels, new photography,’ Cabello shared, before adding, ‘To me, what produces different output is having new input. That’s what’s inspired me.’
The former Fifth Harmony member hasn’t released a new studio album since she dropped Familia in April 2022, which reached number 10 on the Billboard 200.
The record featured the singles Don’t Go Yet and Bam Bam with Ed Sheeran that wound up peaking at number 42 and number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100, respectively.
She first gained worldwide recognition as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, who released three studio albums and six EPs during a five year period between 2013 and 2017.
After going solo, her first studio album, Camila, topped the Billboard 200 chart with the hlp of the hit single Havana. It went on to get certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
The Shameless star has also enjoyed success with her sophomore effort Romance (2019) and the follow-up Familia (2022).
