A California woman was kidnapped in broad daylight after a man tried to hit her with a stolen car and onlookers ignored her screams.

The unidentified woman was walking on 98th Avenue in Oakland on Tuesday when a man driving a stolen vehicle tried to hit her, according to the Oakland Police Department.

The woman was filmed sitting on a porch bench in the neighborhood while a light-colored car slowly crawled down the street until the driver came to a stop and exited the vehicle.

Pulling up the hood of his sweatshirt, he approached the woman, grabbing her by the neck and forcibly pushing her into the car while someone filmed.

Police said the man punched the woman ‘multiple times, causing severe injuries’ before putting her in the car.

The woman screamed that she was being kidnapped, but no one came to her rescue.

‘The suspect then entered the driver’s seat and drove westbound on 98th Avenue to an unknown location,’ authorities said.

Police later recovered the vehicle in East Oakland and determined it had been stolen.

Neither the victim nor the suspect were located.

The victim, who is still missing, has been described as a 5-foot-5 woman between the ages of 20 and 22 and around 140 pounds.

She was last seen wearing a light-colored hoodie and jeans, and had blue and black dreadlocks or braids, police said.

The suspect, who is still at large, was described as being a 5-foot-5 thinly-built man between the ages of 20 and 24.

He has a scar on his left cheek and twisted hair, police said.
