Three people have been injured in a ‘triple stabbing’ in Bury, Greater Manchester. 

The attack took place around midday near Bury Market in Bury town centre and a number of streets surrounding the market remain cordoned off.

An air ambulance arrived at the scene shortly after which took the victims to hospital. Greater Manchester Police have said their injuries are ‘not thought to be life-threatening.’

One person working close to the scene told the Manchester Evening News: ‘As soon as I came out a helicopter was outside, the police were already there. 

‘It was surprising to see something like that.’ 

No arrest have been made so far and the police are appealing for witnesses.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: ‘Greater Manchester Police are still responding to an incident on Murray Road, Bury.

Officers remain at the scene to conduct further enquiries into what is believed to be a stabbing.

The extent of the injuries sustained by three victims are thankfully not thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made at this time.
