Britney Spears will take home 25 per cent of the net profits of her record-breaking memoir The Woman In Me – after the tome became the ‘highest selling celebrity memoir in history’ on its first day of release.
The pop icon, 41, who received a $12.5million advance for the book, is set to make a fortune from the book, which has already sold more than 400,000 copies.
Sources tell TMZ the 25 per cent ‘should cover’ Britney’s advance and that the ‘unsung hero’ in its success is the star’s BFF/manager Cade Hudson who ‘repeatedly pushed’ her to write and finish the book.
At times Britney wanted to drop the project but Hudson ‘pushed her’ to complete it.
The Woman In Me is selling for $32.99 in bookstores, $16.99 on Kindle and $29.69 for an audio book.

Released October 24: Spears’ memoir, The Woman In Me, has unleashed a series of bombshells
On Tuesday Spears happily celebrated her book becoming the ‘highest selling celebrity memoir in history’ and took to Instagram to share the news.
The Baby One More Time songstress, 41 – who officially dropped the anticipated memoir also on Tuesday – gushed to her 42.3 million fans and followers, ‘It’s happening!!!’
‘My book is the highest selling celebrity memoir in history and it’s only day 1 !!! Thank you to the fans who have been so supportive !!! Love you all !! #TheWomanInMe @gallerybooks @simonandschuster.’
She uploaded a photo of the book cover and included a short reel that had the words, ‘My story. On my terms. At last,’ appear on the screen.
The audiobook version was also released, which notably was narrated by Oscar-nominated actress, Michelle Williams.
Spears recorded a small portion of the book and avoided narrating chapters discussing her family due to the content being ‘too painful to retell,’ TMZ recently reported earlier this month.
In her memoir, the star opens up about her 13-year conservatorship, relationship with her family, as well as fame and marriages to Kevin Federline and Sam Asghari.
In an excerpt obtained by People, the star revealed that she had gotten an abortion with Justin Timberlake. The former couple previously dated from 1999 until their split in 2002.

No contact: A source recently told AlertContent.com that, ‘Justin has not reached out to Britney at all about any of this and he is not going to because there is nothing he can say to her’; seen in 2001
‘Not happy’: ‘That does not mean he is okay with it. Justin is not at all happy about what has come out in this book,’ the insider added
She later tied the knot with Federline – whom she shares sons Sean Preston, 18, and Jayden, 17, with. Their divorce was finalized in 2007. The Mirrors hitmaker also shares two sons Silas, eight and Phineas, two, with wife, Jessica Biel.
The singer wrote, ‘I don’t know if that was the right decision. If it had been left up to me alone, I never would have done it. And yet Justin was so sure that he didn’t want to be a father.’
She revealed that getting the abortion was ‘one of the most agonizing things I have ever experienced in my life.’
A source recently told AlertContent.com that, ‘Justin has not reached out to Britney at all about any of this and he is not going to because there is nothing he can say to her. She was there and is just telling it from her point of view.’
‘That does not mean he is okay with it. Justin is not at all happy about what has come out in this book.’
The insider continued, ‘Doing this book has given Britney life and she really doesn’t care who is offended by anything in it because it is what happened.’
‘She was there and lived through it. No one can say anything. She has got this all out of her and is moving on now.’
However, a second source explained that the bombshell revelations in the book have been ‘stressful’ for Timberlake and Biel – who recently celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary on October 19.
When writing about her estranged husband, Sam Asghari, Britney had positive words in regards to the actor – following their shock split after he filed for divorce in August.
She described her former partner – whom she met in 2016 on set of her Slumber Party music video – as ‘a gift from God’ and added, ‘I have an appreciation for how stable he is. I love that he doesn’t even drink.’
The star also told readers that she ‘knew’ she wanted him in her ‘life immediately’ and recalled, ‘The chemistry with us in the beginning was insane. We couldn’t keep our hands off each other.’
The Grammy winner also credited her former lover for giving her the strength to speak out against her ‘abusive’ 13-year conservatorship.
During her open court hearing in June 2021, Spears said Asghari ‘squeezed’ her hand as a signal of his support.
‘I look up to him – his consistency with working out and being a good man and being healthy and taking care of me and helping me learn how we can take care of each other,’ she gushed. ‘He’s such an inspiration and I’m grateful.’
