Brisbane radio host Stav Davidson has opened up about a shock incident in which his wife Kat accidentally killed their beloved family pet.
The B105 FM breakfast host revealed on Wednesday that some time ago his comedian wife accidentally ran over their cat Mallora as they headed to a gig.
‘My wife and I were both stand-up comedians at the time and we were heading out… She was backing out of the driveway and ran her over,’ he told The Courier Mail.
He recalled how they still had to go to their performance so were not able to give their pet a proper burial until they returned home.
‘We had to go to the comedy club, do a show and then I had to come home and bury her in the backyard,’ Stav said.
‘God bless our neighbours, who we knew, because I called them at 11pm and asked them if they had a pick and a shovel. They didn’t even ask any questions! I never let my wife forget that!’

Stav said they put up a beautiful painting of their late feline in their living room as a permanent tribute to her.
He married his comedian and radio presenter wife in the early 2000s and the couple share one daughter, Lorelei.
The upbeat presenter co-hosts the Hit Network’s popular Brisbane breakfast show alongside Matty Acton and Abbey Coleman.
Stav has developed a reputation for speaking openly about his past struggles.
In 2017, he revealed it only took one hit of the drug ice for him to be so hooked he was taking it every day at work.
The entertainer revealed his addiction publicly on his Hit105 breakfast show to his fellow hosts.
‘I am Stav Davidson, and for about nine months to a year of my life I had an addiction to ice – methamphetamine,’ he nervously told Brisbane listeners.
His habit started in 2004, the year before he got his first radio gig, and he said his dealer offered him a free sample of ice because he was holding too much of it, and asked if he’d like to try it.
‘I will never forgive this person for what he did, because I was naive at the time,’ he said.

'I'm Stav, and I was an ice addict': Radio host admits live on air he had a crippling year-long meth addiction – before quitting when he vomited 'a litre' of blood at work
‘I was unaware that it was one of the most addictive things in the world. From there it was all in.’
Despite his life being ‘good’ with ‘nothing wrong’, he descended into regular use before and even during his shifts at a coffee shop.
He was seduced by the drug’s stimulant properties that made his mind move faster and enhanced his sharp wit.
‘As a comedian, what it does for your brain and how fast it makes you work, I was three or four jokes ahead of everybody else. I was hilarious,’ he said.
But the drug’s destructive side effects eventually kicked in and after nine months of abusing his body he got a huge shock that sent him cold turkey.
‘I was (in the coffee shop) by myself, and I went out the back to the sink and threw up about a litre of blood,’ he said.
Stav said not only did his workmates never find out about his addiction, even more than a decade few people other than his wife knew, even in his family.
He has only mentioned the topic once before, on one of Osher Gunsberg’s podcasts, but never told the whole story publicly.
