Brigit Forsyth, who starred in sitcom Still Open All Hours, has died at the age of 83.
The Scottish actress passed away ‘peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family’ in the early hours of Friday morning , her agent Mark Pemberton said.
During her career she had a starring in Whatever Happened To The Likely Lads? playing battleaxe Thelma Ferris, the long suffering wife of Rodney Bewes’ character Bob, in the cult 70s BBC sitcom.
The comedy actress went on to have roles in Tom, Dick and Harriet as well as Sharon and Elsie in the 80s.
In her later years she was reintroduced to a younger audience after joining the cast of David Jason sitcom Still Open All Hours between 2013 and 2019.

In her decade-spanning career she also had roles in The Bill, Doctor Who and Coronation Street.
Releasing a statement this evening, her agent said: ‘She was in many radio plays on the BBC over the years and also featured in the Radio 4 sitcom Ed Reardon’s Week.
‘A talented musician, Brigit played the cello, sang and composed, and in later years played with several bands including The Fircones.’
