alert-–-brandon-miller’s-socialite-wife-candice-sued-for-unpaid-rent-on-new-york-city-condo-two-months-after-financier-husband’s-suicide-over-$34m-debtAlert – Brandon Miller’s socialite wife Candice sued for unpaid rent on New York City condo two months after financier husband’s suicide over $34m debt

The widow of developer and financier Brandon Miller is being sued by a New York City landlord for unpaid rent on their luxury apartment following her husband’s suicide.

Mak Acquisitions is demanding socialite Candice Miller cough up $195,000 to cover rent on their 737 Park Ave abode for the months of April through August, court documents reviewed by DailyMail.com revealed.

The mother-of-two moved out of the Upper East Side apartment in August, but the landlord is arguing she as ‘refused to compensate [them] for provided services.’

Rent for the swanky apartment cost $47,000 until April, before increasing to $49,000 from May onward. The unit boasts five-bedrooms and seven-and-a-half-bathrooms across 4,382 square feet, according to Zillow.

The lawsuit is the latest in legal troubles Brandon, 43, left behind for his family. Courts documents show he owed nearly $34 million in debt and had just $8,000 in his bank account when he decided to take his own life.

A significant portion of this debt was tied to his Hamptons estate at 25 Cobb Isle Road, which is now on the market for $15.5 million.

Candice, 42, has filed a bond petition detailing four outstanding loans on the property, including a $2 million mortgage from Titan Capital, which has also recently sued her over missed payments.

Beyond the property debt, Brandon had a substantial unsecured loan of $11.3 million from BMO Bank. Additionally, he owed over $6 million to Donald Jaffe, a lender who had previously funded Miller and his father on various projects. Jaffe is still pursuing legal action to recover the unpaid balance.

Other creditors include American Express and Funding Club, a Brooklyn-based cash advance lender, to whom Brandon owed over $300,000 and $266,000, respectively.

In a suicide note, the father explained that a last-minute make-or-break business deal had fallen through leaving him feeling he had no way out.

The New York Times reported that Brandon also detailed two life insurance policies that could be used to pay off creditors.

The troubled man waited until his family had left town for a weeks-long luxury vacation before getting into his car and running the engine until it filled their garage with toxic gas.

A wealthy friend arranged for shaken Candice and their two girls to fly back to the US on a private jet.

They arrived in time to say their final goodbyes before he was taken off life support at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital and declared dead on July 3, according to a well-placed source.

Candice has since moved with her daughters to Miami Beach shortly after her husband’s suicide in July and is now living in a multimillion dollar condo owned by a member of the von Fürstenberg family.

Last year, a trust tied to Alexander von Fürstenberg paid $10 million for the luxurious three-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom unit Miller is now living in.

Diane von Fürstenberg’s net worth is said to be around $300 million, much of which comes from her famous fashion label that’s named for herself.

Decades after she divorced her first husband, who came from a princely family in Germany, von Fürstenberg married media mogul Barry Diller.

The pair, who wed in 2001, bought a waterfront plot of land, also in Miami Beach, for an eyewatering $45 million in April.

It’s unclear what, if any, relationship exists between Miller and the exceedingly wealthy couple.

Miller is known to be friends with Alexander von Fürstenberg’s wife, Alison, also known as the model Ali Kay.
