Blake Shelton has revealed his New Year’s resolution is to go teetotal.
The country music star, 47, who is married to Gwen Stefani, 54, said he wants to ‘cut back or stop’ drinking alcohol altogether in 2024.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the star said: ‘I haven’t managed to stop drinking yet.
‘Even cutting back has been hard. I mean, it’s a resolution though. And I’ll say it again right now — that’s my New Year’s resolution. To either cut back or stop drinking altogether. Let’s just say I said it.’
The star also opened up about his low-key plans for New Year’s Eve with Stefani, saying: ‘If we’re at home during New Year’s Eve, we’re probably going to bed before it even happens.’

Shelton recently opened up about their first encounter when Stefani was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame October 19.
He said that when he met her on The Voice, she was surrounded by her children, and he humorously quipped: ‘It was chaos.’
However, Shelton stated that the No Doubt frontwoman, who recently described her marriage as an ‘amazing gift,’ impressed him with her devotion to her family.
‘The first time that I ever met Gwen was in 2014,’ Shelton said at the ceremony, according to the Today show. ‘She wasn’t like any other famous person that I had ever met before. She drove herself to work in a black minivan with car seats in it.’
The country singer also stated that the presence of her sons intimidated many of the individuals on set.
‘She didn’t roll in with security. She came in with a baby and two little boys, which at the time worked like security because nobody was going near,’ he said.
Stefani shares her sons with her former husband, Gavin Rossdale, to whom she was married from 2002 until 2016.
Shelton then remarked that Stefani’s affection for her children greatly impressed him during their first encounter.
‘It was clear to me that she was a mother first and foremost over anything else in the world — that was her number one job,’ he said.

Shelton went on to speak about how he had consistently been impressed by his wife’s achievements ever since they met.
‘She has risen to the top over and over again with her unique style that has made the world fall in love with her – not as much as me, though,’ he said.
Stefani became visibly emotional during her husband’s speech, and lovingly referred to him as her ‘best friend.’
She then told her spouse: ‘You have given me the kind of love I never knew before. The minute I met you, I knew that I was home and I am so, so proud that you’re mine. I can’t believe it. I love you so much.’
The singer and her husband began dating in November of 2015, and they tied the knot during a wedding ceremony that was held at his Oklahoma ranch in July of 2021.
Shelton was married to Kaynette Gern from 2003 until 2006, and to Miranda Lambert from 2011 until 2015.
Stefani and her husband have collaborated musically on several occasions over the course of their relationship.
