Blake Shelton plans to quit drinking for good as his New Year’s resolution.
The singer, 47, is set to spend New Year’s apart from his wife Gwen Stefani, 54, as he is part of the line-up for CBS’ Nashville Big Bash to ring in 2024.
Blake said while he has tried cutting back on his alcohol intake recently, he hasn’t been able to stop altogether.
‘I haven’t managed to stop drinking yet. That’s been, you know, even cutting back has been hard,’ he told Entertainment Tonight.
‘I mean, it’s a resolution though. And I’ll say it again right now – that’s my New Year’s resolution, is to either cut back or stop drinking altogether. Let’s just say I said it.’
It comes as Gwen revealed last week she’ll be celebrating New Year’s Eve on her own.

The songstress said she originally planned to spend New Year’s Eve with Blake, but an offer she couldn’t refuse ended up rearranging their plans for the evening.
‘Well, it’s funny because I was going to be at his show, and then Vegas called and wanted me to be in Vegas,’ she explained.
While she’ll now be delighting her fans in Las Vegas, Blake will be performing across the country at New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash in Tennessee.
Gwen was also interested in focusing on her health and becoming more ‘consistent’ about taking care of herself.
The singer also had Blake in mind with another resolution to ‘keep loving’ him more than ever.
The couple have been married since 2021, but their relationship first began in 2015.
They met when Gwen joined the reality competition series The Voice as a judge after Blake had already been with the series since its premiere.
The two quickly hit it off, both having recently separated from their spouses that year.
Blake announced a separation from his wife Miranda Lambert, whom he had married in 2011, and it was finalised later in 2015.

In a 2016 interview with Howard Stern, Gwen said she was moved after Blake revealed his divorce to his costars, and she confessed to him that she had spilt from her husband Gavin Rossdale around the same time, though their divorce wouldn’t be finalised until the following year.
Gwen and the Bush singer had been married since 2002, and they share three children: Kingston, 17; Zuma, 14; and Apollo, nine.
In September, Gwen gushed to People about the impact her romance with Blake had had on her: ‘He’s changed my life.’
‘When I [started dating] Blake, that’s when I felt home, like, “Oh, this is where I’m supposed to be, with this guy.’
