Bill Maher’s relationship with his long-time reps Creative Artists Agency (CAA), which has represented him for more than 20 years, may be over after he was reportedly left off the guest list for a pre-Oscars party.
The Hollywood Reporter claims Maher fired the agency after he felt slighted for not receiving an invitation to Bryan Lourd’s exclusive Oscar party, held at his LA mansion last weekend.
CAA have not commented officially on the parting of ways but another rep for Maher at the Wasserman (Brillstein Entertainment Partners) Agency told DailyMail.com there was no truth to the news of him leaving CAA.
‘It’s not at all true. He is still at CAA and has made no decisions about his representation at this time,’ they said to DailyMail.com on Saturday night.
The party was a who’s who of Hollywood A-listers and fellow CAA clients including Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston. which only served to incense Maher further, after being left out in the cold.

It saw the likes of J.J. Abrams, Barry Diller, Kamala Harris, Margot Robbie, Bob Iger, Alan Bergman, Dana Walden, Brian Robbins, Jason Blum, Brian Grazer, Donna Langley and Pam Abdy all in attendance.
Maher’s was also a no-show at a more ‘official’ CAA-hosted event at the Sunset Tower Hotel the previous night.
Maher was nowhere to be seen only fueling rumors that all was not well between the HBO talk show host and CAA.
Instead, he showed up at rival agency William Morris Endeavor WME’s Oscar party at Hearst Estate in Beverly Hills.
The agency reps Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Cillian Murphy, Jeffrey Wright, Annette Bening, Carey Mulligan, Emily Blunt, Danielle Brooks, Jodie Foster, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, America Ferrera, Justin Triet and Yorgos Lanthimos, among others.

Maher has been represented at CAA by Steven Lafferty, who also holds the position of the agency’s head of television.
The agency recently secured a two-year extension for Maher’s HBO show, ‘Real Time,’ which, by 2026, would see it embarking on its 24th season.
His show has been on air since 2003 and is one of the network’s longest-running original series.
Maher made no mention of his fall out with CAA during this week’s Real Time show which is recorded on Friday night in Los Angeles.
