Friends of a man who was killed in a workplace tragedy say he was the sole family provider for his wife in Melbourne and and his parents in India.
Adarsh Rajput died in a horrific work accident at a building site on Santorini Parade in Berwick, 47km south-east of Melbourne’s CBD, around 1pm on Friday, March 1.
The 28-year-old was working by himself to unload timber when the crane’s arm, known as a boom, suddenly crushed him, inflicting fatal injuries.
Mr Rajput’s friend Arshdeep Singh has now set up a GoFundMe page to help his family cover funeral and ceremonial expenses.
‘He left a wife and his parents behind,’ Mr Singh said. ‘He was the only support for his family.’
