Alert – Ben Affleck kicks off 2025 with son Samuel in LA… after ex Jennifer Lopez rang in New Year’s in Aspen

Ben Affleck kicked off 2025 by spending quality time with his son, Samuel, during a lowkey outing in the Brentwood neighborhood of L.A. on Friday.

It comes shortly after his ex, Jennifer Lopez, also celebrated the New Year’s holiday in Aspen – and shared sultry bikini photos while saying goodbye to 2024.

Last year in August, the Unstoppable actress, 55, notably filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, on their second wedding anniversary.

Ben’s mini-me son, 12, rode a bike as they enjoyed the cooler weather for the daytime excursion. The pair were seen holding a lighthearted conversation before heading to their next destination.

The Gone Girl actor kept it casual wearing a pair of khaki trousers as well as a black button up that was partially unfastened around the collar.

He additionally donned a printed, white shirt and layered the ensemble with a white jacket.

Ben shares Samuel, as well as Violet, 19, and Fin, 15, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. 

He had the chance to spend the holidays with Garner and his three children – with a source telling People late last month that the star is ‘healthy, single and enjoying life.’

Affleck ‘is spending the holiday with his children and is excited to have Violet home for break,’ the insider continued. 

The former couple – whose divorce was finalized in 2018 – also reunited over Thanksgiving, where they volunteered together for The Midnight Mission. 

A separate source told the outlet that the 13 Going On 30 actress ‘truly just wants her kids to be happy.’ 

‘She will continue to make sure that they spend time together as a family and include Ben…The kids enjoy when they all spend time together.’  

Earlier this week, Lopez reflected on her own New Year’s holiday which she spent in Aspen with her loved ones and close pals. 

She uploaded a montage of photos and clips to Instagram on Thursday as she celebrated with her mother Guadalupe, sister Lynda, and also some of her producers and stylists.

Her teenage twins Max and Emme, 16 – whom she shares with ex Marc Anthony – also joined in on the fun. 

In one image, Jennifer wowed wearing a skimpy black bikini as well as a black cowboy hat on top of her locks.  

She posed inside what appeared to be a spacious bathroom and also slipped into a pair of fuzzy boots. 

The On The Floor songstress also uploaded a 2024 recap to her main Instagram page, but notably did not include Affleck. 

While Ben spent time with Garner and their kids during the holiday season, Jennifer also celebrated Christmas in Aspen – where she was seen mingling with celebrities such as Kevin Costner. 

Last month in December, Affleck and Lopez were seen reuniting as they exchanged gifts at Soho House in Los Angeles. 

A source recently told Page Six that the pair still plan to be in each other’s lives – despite the divorce. 

‘They have every intention of continuing to be in each other’s lives despite not being romantically involved.’

The source also added that the two stars will still ‘communicate when it involves their kids.’

And their $68 million Beverly Hills mansion that they had purchased is still on the market after being listed in July 2024. 

Also last month, Lopez got candid about ‘struggles’ following her split from Ben after only two years of marriage. 

During an interview with British Vogue, the actress reflected on finding balance in her life as a mom and Hollywood star. 

‘Okay, there’s so much going on here. And I understood it. I mean, as a mom, you always want to put your best foot forward for your kids.’

Jennifer added, ‘You want to lift them up. That doesn’t stop you from being a human being who struggles.’

A source told People last month that the singer is aiming to put the end of her marriage behind her and move forward in 2025.

Following the end of her marriage to Affleck, a source recently told DailyMail.com that Lopez wants to take time for herself before getting into another relationship. 

‘Jen like most people, would love to have love in her life again. But the one person she has to give the time to right now is herself.’

‘If something presents itself, then obviously life and love find a way, but she isn’t looking to get into any new relationships.’

‘She is focused on her work and wants 2025 to be the year she gets back to being herself,’ the source said.

‘She isn’t actively looking to date right now and is still processing losing Ben again,’ they added.

Later this month on January 16, Jennifer’s sports biopic Unstoppable will become available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. 

The film ‘centers around the life of wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg and won a national championship in 2011 while competing at Arizona State University,’ per an IMDb synopsis.

Ben was notably one of the producers of the biopic, along with close pal Matt Damon.

Lopez portrayed one of the leading roles of Judy Robles in the biopic, and she received critical praise for her performance.

However, she was not nominated for a 2025 Golden Globe Award in December, joining other snubbed stars including Lady Gaga and Meryl Streep.

Despite the snub, the actress was the recipient of the Maverick Award while attending the 2024 IndieWire Honors in Los Angeles.
