The first trailer for Ben Affleck’s The Accountant 2 dropped on Thursday.

The movie star, 52, stars alongside co-star Jon Bernthal in the thriller – both reprising their roles from the first installment – The Accountant – which released in 2016.

The film centers around Ben’s character Christian Wolff and his brother Brax, played by Jon.

Christian, an autistic forensic accountant, tries to help solve the murder of a treasury agent, working with brother Brax despite their estrangement.

It takes place eight years after the events that took place in the first installment of The Accountant.

The Accountant 2 is set to be released on April 25 in theaters – nine years after the original movie premiered.

The trailer kicks off with Ben’s character Christian getting ready for the day, sporting a suit and tie.

He is getting ready in his trailer as he listens to someone telling him how to dress, noting that he shouldn’t wear a black suit because it makes him look like a ‘mortician.’

He looks in the mirror at his black suit as the voice told him that.

A montage of guns and fancy motorcycles is then seen before he is seen eating in the solitude of his trailer.

The next scene in the trailer shows J.K. Simmons’ Ray King character hiding from shooters – before writing out ‘Find the Accountant’ on his forearm.

He is later seen at a morgue – with someone looking at his message on his post-mortem body.

‘Do I make you nervous?’ Christian asks Marybeth Medina – a treasure agent – played by Cynthia Addai-Robinson – whom he meets at a parking garage, who goes on to tell him he is an ‘escaped convict, trained by mob accountants, your clients are drug cartels, money launderers….’

He then tells her: ‘Is that a yes?’ as he walks closer to her.

She tells him that Ray King was murdered, asking him if he likes puzzles.

Marybeth tells him he needs his help, before an explosion is seen.

Christian calls Brax – amid their estrangement – with Christian asking to meet him in Los Angeles.

A fight ensues, with the agent telling Christian that she doesn’t torture people, to which he corrects he and says, ‘you didn’t.’

They head to his trailer and sit on the roof in lawn chairs, to which Brax says you ‘live in a lunchbox’ and Brax brings up why they don’t talk.

‘I spent years looking for you. Do you not miss me because of me or because of your condition?’ Brax asks Christian.

‘I’m just me,’ Christian tells him.

Another montage of a gun fight takes place, with Christian and Brax suited up and then shooting at a group of people.

Last month, Ben and Jennifer settled their divorce – five months after their shock split on their second wedding anniversary.

Jennifer, 55, and Ben who wed in 2022, will officially end their marriage on February 20, with the pair each walking away with what they individually acquired during their brief union, DailyMail.com can confirm.

The pair have also reached an agreement on their $61million Beverly Hills mansion they bought together, although the terms will remain private.

The former couple wed without a prenuptial agreement – with their cumulative wealth sitting at $550million, with Lopez’s assets accounting for $400million of their wealth treasure chest.

The actor-director and singer-actress eloped at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022 – 18 years after breaking off their first engagement in 2004.

The couple again exchanged vows at Affleck’s estate outside of Savannah, Georgia on August 20 that year.

J-Lo filed the divorce documents on the two-year anniversary of their Georgia nuptials, but listed their separation date as April 26, 2024.

They had first rekindled their romance in early 2021, just weeks after J-Lo broke off her engagement to Alex Rodriguez.

TMZ, who were first to report on the settlement, reports Affleck will hold onto his stake in his production company, Artists Equity, which he founded in 2022 with BFF Matt Damon.

The company has produced Air, The Accountant Part 2 and Unstoppable.

Jennifer worked on projects including Shotgun Wedding, This Is Me… Now and The Mother during their marriage.

The settlement, which was mediated by celeb disso queen Laura Wasser, also reveals Jennifer is dropping Affleck as a last name and going back to Jennifer Lynn Lopez.
