Beau Ryan revealed the ‘good and bad times’ of his 11 year marriage to wife Kara on Sunday, as he opened up about the history of their relationship.
The Gladiators host, 38, who tied the knot with Kara, 36, in 2012, said the mother of his two children – Remi, 10, and Jesse, six – ‘balances’ his ‘needy and emotional’ side.
After having two kids and ‘moving homes more than 10 times’, the former NRL star said he and Kara have ‘grown together’, reported The Sydney Morning Herald.
‘Kara knows me better than anyone else and we’ve shared good and bad times,’ he told the publication.
‘I’m a needy person and quite emotional. My wife is very balanced, like my mum. She takes life in her stride. I can’t imagine my life without her.’

But despite how strong their relationship appears now, The Footy Show star said they had a very rocky start.
The pair ‘properly met’ when Beau was 19, but after three years of dating they broke up when Kara decided to move overseas for a time.
Beau went on to say they ‘reconnected’ when he was 23, but Kara ‘made me work hard for her love’ and the rugby player struggled to ‘make her commit’.

He revealed he tried to pop the question to her three times in 2011, with the first two proposals becoming ruined because Kara kept putting a spanner in his plans.
First, she refused to ride in a horse drawn carriage in Central Park because she thought it was ‘cheesy and cringe’.
Then the mother-of-two wasn’t up to getting in the rowboat Beau hired as a backup, and eventually he was forced to propose at dinner.

‘Third time lucky, I booked a restaurant and asked her there. It was the most nervous I’ve ever been in my life,’ he said.
Beau and Kara have been happily married since 2012 and have two children together, daughter Remi and son Jesse.
The former Amazing Race host quit NRL in 2014 and went on to have a stellar career in media.
He started out on The Footy Show and has since worked through several hosting jobs and guest appearances. He now hosts Gladiators alongside Liz Ellis.
