BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty made a playful dig at Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebbutt over the weekend.

The journalist, 48, was hosting alongside Charlie Stayt when she did the usual link up to the cooking show where she poked fun at Matt’s clothes.

Matt, 49, looked in stark contrasts to glamorous wine expert Helen McGinn – who told him he should ‘up his game’ clothes wise – as he got set to present the show in a casual blue shirt.

After he ran through what he had coming up on his show, Naga commented on his look: ‘Yeah Helen’s right, you really do need to ‘up your subtle real game’!’

As everyone laughed a smiling Matt replied: ‘This is my look!’ to which Naga then quipped: ‘Exactly!’

Matt then laughed along at her joke, and said: ‘Alright! Enough!’

When they returned to the BBC Breakfast studio, sports presenter Mike Bushell said: ‘Well that told him!’

To which Naga replied: ‘Well Helen’s there in her velvet jumpsuit looking the part, and Matt is just in his normal blue shirt!’

It comes after last week fans called for Naga to become the permanent host of Have I Got News For You.

The broadcaster presented last Friday’s edition of the show, joined by panellists Ian Hislop and Paul Merton and guest panellists Maisie Adam and Richard Osman.

During the show, she left fans in hysterics as she made an X-rated quip and showcased her risqué humour as she took advantage of appearing on a post-watershed show.

Fans were quick to call for her to take over the reigns permanently after making her second appearance as guest host.

The topical news quiz has been hosted by a different celebrity each week since former host Angus Deayton was sacked in 2002 over his alleged use of cocaine and prostitutes.

After Naga shared a snap of herself on the panel, fans were quick to praise her presenting gig, commenting:  ‘Great hosting. Hope to see you in the chair again soon.’;

‘You were great as the host’; ‘Was in the audience. You did an amazing job! Great guests, really funny show!!’; ‘Normally wait for the I player but noticed that you were hosting tonight and wasn’t disappointed you were brilliant’;

‘If there’s a better face on TV, I’ve yet to see the it!’; Brilliant performance best show lineup’; ‘Best edition of HIGNFY for ages.’; ‘Ian was feisty this episode, you showed incredible poise’;

Naga left the audience in hysterics on the show as she made a cheeky joke during the Odd One Out round.

She presented the panel with images of a map of , footballer Mo Salah, King Charles’s curtains and an iceberg, tasking them to discover the anomaly.

As Paul buzzed in to answer, he said that the iceberg ‘floated away from all the other ice,’ adding: ‘Is it five times the size of Britain, or something like that?’

Stunned by the iceberg’s size, Maisie said: ‘What?’ while Naga noted: ‘It’s twice the size of Greater London.’

As the audience laughed at Paul’s mistake, he responded: ‘Are there other parts of Britain? You can only say that in front of a London audience, I wouldn’t say it in Sheffield.’

The presenter then hit back with her own savage comment, saying sarcastically: ‘It’s so unlike a man to exaggerate size, isn’t it?’

While Maisie burst into laughter, the audience applauded Naga’s cheeky comeback.

Naga is no stranger to a cheeky on-screen innuendo, as during a recent appearance on BBC Breakfast she raised eyebrows with a cheeky joke about beavers.

Telling host Charlie Stayt she was fond of the creatures, Naga said: ‘I’ve always liked beavers, always found them fascinating.

‘Winnie and Eeyore are just such hard workers. To be able to build a 50 metre dam, can you imagine the equivalent human being doing something like that? It’s ridiculous, they’d never work as hard.’

Charlie pondered the names of the beavers, saying they didn’t fit the stereotype of ‘hard workers’.

Laughing, Naga then added: ‘Yeah the real Eeyore, they didn’t get much done, but there you go. He did, he thought a lot… but beavers just do. It’s all about the action with the beaver.’

Alluding to her cheeky quip, Naga smirked as she turned towards the camera, while host Charlie swiftly moved on.

Naga and Charlie have co-hosted BBC Breakfast together since 2014.
