A filthy trend at an Post parcel collection locker has left Aussies furious.
The grubby act was highlighted by a local who spotted a growing pile of empty coffee cups next to the lockers at Crown Square in Waterloo, in the south of Sydney City.
They posted an image to social media of the discarded cups stacked neatly on top of a broken wooden panel with more rubbish stuffed inside the hole.
‘Can council or the management of the crown square retail precinct please install a bin or at least send the cleaner,’ the local wrote.
‘Every day “coffee cup mountain” grows taller.’
The post stirred up fellow locals with some saying the council should send rangers to the lockers and fine everyone who litters there.
‘The worst thing is there is a bin about 20m away on the other side of the road must be hard to use your legs,’ one said.
Another commented that Aussies should adopt a culture similar to Japan’s, where people take their rubbish home if there isn’t a bin nearby.
Daily Mail has contacted the City of Sydney and Post for comment.
