A well-known range of coconut yoghurt has apologised after recalling more of its products from supermarkets across , a day after an initial alert went out.
Cocobella sells dairy-free products including coconut water and tubs of coconut yoghurts in retailers such as Coles and Woolworths.
On Thursday, it issued an urgent product recall for the 110g Cocobella coconut yoghurt pouches in banana, mango, and strawberry flavours.
But a day later, it extended the notice to all Cocobella Coconut Yoghurt products.
The vegan-friendly brand published a statement on Friday saying the presence of an undeclared allergen of milk had been identified in some product lines.
After its first recall notice, further testing of all product lines identified the undeclared allergen in a small number of other coconut yoghurt batches.
‘As soon as that was confirmed, Cocobella alerted food safety authorities and implemented a second, wider recall beyond the affected product lines, which we believe is in the best interests of our customers,’ it said.
‘We unreservedly apologise for the health impacts, concern and inconvenience this has caused our customers.’
‘While the overwhelming majority of product lines have tested negative to the allergen, the wider recall will ensure public safety while Cocobella continues its thorough investigation into the cause of the issue,’ it said.
‘We are determined to understand how this allergen found its way into our products so we can ensure it cannot happen again.’
The recall notice covered all Cocobella Coconut Yoghurt products with all use-by dates leading up to and including 6 October 2025.
Any customers who have a milk allergy or intolerance have been advised not to consume any of the company’s yoghurt products for the time being.
‘Any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,’ the statement said.
‘The issue does not impact the Cocobella Coconut Water range.’

Consumers who have purchased the yoghurt products have been told to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
The company said all retailers including Coles, Woolworths and independent grocery supermarkets were notified.
