A Queensland man has swapped his breakfast cereal for champagne to celebrate his ‘mind-altering’ $50 million win.

The lucky winner from Landsborough on the Sunshine Coast held the only division one winning entry in Tuesday’s Oz Lotto draw.

OzLotto officials had spent the night trying to get in touch with ‘s newest multi-millionaire until they finally tracked him down the next morning.

He’s the third-biggest winner of any lottery game so far in 2024 and had no idea of his lifechanging windfall until Wednesday morning.

‘I’m sort of in shock. Is that true?’ the man laughed.

‘Oh my god! It’s not big, mate. It’s mind-blowing!

The winner plans to quit his job and pay off the mortgage following the ‘mind-altering’ news.

‘When my bank manager asked me years ago what my retirement plans, I said, ‘to win the lottery’. He just laughed at me. Well, I have!’ the man

‘Another thing will be paying off the mortgage. That’s the very first thing. For the first time, I’m going to own my house outright.

‘I don’t know how to feel. You made my day, made my life!

‘I know it’s only early morning, but I think we’ll pop some champagne to celebrate.’

The winning 6-game QuickPick entry was purchased on The Lott website. 

So far this year, there have been four Oz Lotto division one wins across that have collectively taken home $90 million in prizemoney – with two wins each in Queensland and NSW.

In addition to the sole division one winner in Tuesday night’s Oz Lotto, 881,769 winners across divisions two to seven who collected a combined $19,069,871.70. 

This includes 14 division two winners who each pocketed $49,961.40.
