A couple accused of killing a respected surgeon led a chaotic lifestyle and enraged their neighbours with frequent arguing, hose usage and making noise.
Kerem Aydin, 22, and Jacinta Davila, 27, were in the process of being evicted from their Thebarton rental property, in Adelaide’s inner-west, when they were arrested on Tuesday over the alleged murder of Dr Michael Yung, 61.
The former intensive care paediatrician died when the couple allegedly broke into his $2million Gilberton home, in the city’s inner-north, during the early hours of Monday morning, then assaulted him.
Daily Mail can reveal that just hours before their arrest on Tuesday morning, a neighbour had gone to the police station to make a report about the couple.

The report was in relation to a clash a neighbour had with Aydin on Saturday night after confronting him over his late-night use of the garden hose.
The incident was not the first run-in nearby residents had experienced with the couple since they moved into the property about four-and-a-half months ago.
The couple’s landlord was in the process of evicting them because they stopped paying rent four weeks after moving in.
Sources said the landlord was seeking advice from the South n Civil and Administrative Tribunal and was recently forced to call police to gain entry to the property because he could not get into contact with the couple.
According to one source, Davila’s mother Mary initially leased the property, which was advertised for rent on Facebook Marketplace. However, she moved out about two months ago.
Daily Mail does not suggest she was aware the rent was not being paid.
The revelation about the Thebarton property comes after Daily Mail revealed on Wednesday that the couple were kicked out of a separate rental in August for failing to pay rent.
Neighbours in Thebarton said they tried to make efforts to get to know the couple when they moved into the property, but they did not appear to be interested and mainly kept to themselves.
The pair did not seem to work or drive and appeared to have a nocturnal lifestyle as their household was typically quiet during the day but noisy at night, neighbours said.
One neighbour said the couple often had food delivered to their home while another noticed other cars lparked outside the property with their lights on for lengthy periods while waiting to pick the couple up.
One woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said they appeared to have a few visitors when they first moved in, but the number of guests had dropped off over time.
However, she said one thing that remained constant was the sound of the couple fighting, with topics ranging from their eight-month-old daughter to their pet dog.
‘The screaming was sometimes twice a week, then sometimes it would go quiet for a week,’ she said.
‘He hated her dog. She had it before they got together, and he did not like it.
‘A few weeks ago, the dog tried to steal his food and he got angry at it. She said to him: ”It doesn’t like you because you’re not a nice person”.
‘Then three nights ago, they are arguing and she is yelling “the baby is teething!’.

Their pet dog and other personal belongings – including suitcases, clothes, and children’s toys – were seen littered around the backyard on Thursday
Neighbours also said they could often hear the garden hose being used late at night.
One woman was woken up at 1:45am on Saturday by the sound of running water and the dog barking.
‘I got up, [went outside] and said “would you mind turning that off, it’s woken us up.’
The woman said the man gave an unclear explanation about using his hose because his dog was barking at him.
On Tuesday morning, the exasperated woman went to make a report to police.
Just hours later, officers arrested Aydin and Davila at nearby Torrensville Plaza, where they had allegedly stolen medical supplies to treat the young father’s wounds.
Meanwhile, officers carried out a search of the couple’s house, where police will allege they found blood-stained clothes inside the washing machine and glass in Aydin’s shoes.
Local residents said detectives scoured the property the following day, going through bins, gathering evidence and collecting CCTV footage from neighbouring homes.
One neighbour said police seemed to be particularly interested in footage taken between 5am and 5.30am on Monday.
Police will allege the couple left their home on Tuesday evening and went to Chemist Warehouse in Torrensville to steal medical supplies
The couple then allegedly headed to a shopping hub around 100m further down the road where more supplies were stolen from Drake’s supermarket (pictured)
Police will allege the couple turned right outside of Drake’s, into this section of the plaza, where they went to the public toilets
The public toilets in the plaza have female toilets, to the left, male toilets, to the right. Nestled between the entrance ways to the two other toilet areas is a lockable unisex toilet (pictured) which requires a key
Workers at the plaza told Daily Mail the couple were in the lockable toilet (pictured) when they were allegedly dressing Aydin’s wounds
Police will allege the couple broke into Dr Yung’s home hours earlier and fatally assaulted him before leaving the scene.
The pair faced Adelaide’s Magistrates Court via video link on Wednesday, charged with murder, aggravated serious criminal trespass and committing theft using force.
Aydin, sporting a bandage over a bruised and swollen left eye, did not apply for bail.
Davila, who sobbed throughout her appearance, will return to court next Wednesday when Mr Jandy will consider releasing her on home detention bail.
Meanwhile, remnants of the couple’s lives in Thebarton were visible at their abandoned home on Thursday.
The backyard was littered with personal items, with a baby swing and clothes still attached to the clothes line and suitcases, a rolled-up carpet, and mattress propped up against the walls of the carport.
Amongst the clutter, Davila’s dog could be seen fast asleep on a dusty mat.
Residents said Davila’s mother Mary, who neighbours have described as an ‘absolutely beautiful’ person, has been periodically visiting the house to feed the dog.
It is understand Mary Davila, who lives on a disability pension, is also currently caring for the couple’s baby.
Aydin and Davila are due back in court for a charge determination hearing in March.
