Rashida Tlaib deserves to be censured for ‘vile’ anti-Israel speech

Kari Lake, an outspoken Republican running for the Senate in Arizona, says that attacks by her political opponents alleging she is anti-Semitic are ‘ludicrous’ and ‘unbelievably dishonest.’

Lake spoke exclusively with .com ahead of the House’s vote to censure Squad Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her anti-Israel statements following a surprise attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists killing over 1,400 innocent civilians – including over 30 Americans – and taking hundreds hostage in Gaza.

Lake herself has faced criticism by current Arizona Sen. Krysten Sinema, a former Democrat turned Independent, and her other opponent Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., for allegedly cozying up to anti-Semitic media figures.

‘That is the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard. That’s a bunch of garbage coming from Media Matters, which is a [George] Soros outlet,’ she fired back during the interview with .com.

‘They are doing what they always do – deflecting by lying – because they have to look at their own records of cozying up to Hamas-affiliated groups, taking money and not doing a damn thing,’ she continued.

Lake said Gallego, Sinema and President Joe Biden are ‘the reason that we saw that Hamas terror attack in Israel on October 7.’

The House is voting on a motion to censure Squad Rep. Rashida Tlaib for her anti-Israel statements following a surprise attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists

She went on to say that Gallego, Sinema and President Joe Biden are ‘the reason that we saw that Hamas terror attack in Israel on October 7.’

For her political opponents to make anti-Semitic accusations against her is ‘unbelievably dishonest,’ Lake continued, saying she is the only one in the three-way race with Jewish family members.

‘I expect that kind of thing in politics, but it’s absolutely them trying to run away from their record, which is pro-Hamas,’ she said, noting that Gallego was in favor of the 2015 Iran Nuclear Deal.

Lake was asked by .com if she supports the push by House Republicans to censure Squad Rep. Rashida Tlaib over her anti-Israel statements in the wake of the massacre.

‘Yes, I would absolutely support that,’ she replied, while blasting Gallego and Sinema for ‘refusing to condemn’ the Squad’s ‘vile anti-Israel rhetoric.’

The House is set to vote on Tlaib’s censure this evening, but it is not expected that she will be formally reprimanded.

A censure vote requires the majority of lawmakers in the House in order to be approved.

Tlaib drew criticism from both Republicans and Democrats after she falsely stated that Israel was to blame for a rocket that hit a hospital in Gaza – killing hundreds – and for saying the U.S. should withdraw its support to Israel.

Even Biden’s press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre condemned her statements.

‘Look, I’ve seen some of those statements this weekend and we are going to continue to be very clear, we believe they are wrong,’ Jean-Pierre said. ‘We believe they are repugnant and we believe they are disgraceful.’

Lake also told .com that she supports the House Republican push to decouple Ukraine and Israel aid.

‘I really think it’s fiscally responsible that we take the $14 billion from that radical IRS funding and the Inflation Reduction Act. We have more than enough money from cuts to pay to help Israel send aid to Israel immediately.’

The bill, which largely contains military aid, is meant to shore up Israel’s defenses as it launches a ground invasion of the Gaza strip in what has become an aggressive and bloody campaign to eradicate Hamas.

But the funds would be taken from IRS money that was allocated in the Inflation Reduction Act last year – a prospect sure to turn off Democrats.

Lake has the backing of former President Donald Trump

‘I am going to put for Arizona first America first policies that will help all Arizonans,’ said Lake

Earlier this year, the House voted to boot fellow Squad Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., off of her seat on the Foreign Affairs Committee for past anti-Israel rhetoric.

The House overwhelmingly voted to support Israel and condemn Hamas in its first legislative action in over three weeks, but a handful of Democrats voted against the resolution.

In the 412-10-6 vote last week following the election of new Speaker Mike Johnson, the House demonstrated support for Israel.

Lake told .com that she is also unconcerned about a new poll that showed Sinema is taking votes away from her.

‘I’m going to take votes from the Independents and I’m going to take a few of the disaffected Democrats as well,’ she told .com.

‘I know that what really counts are policies, and I am going to put forth Arizona first America first policies that will help all Arizonans.’

Last year, Lake lost her bid for Arizona’s governor seat to Democrat Katie Hobbs.
