Left-wing ‘squad’ Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at an anti-Israel protester who confronted her and her fiance at a movie theater demanding she call what’s happening in Gaza a ‘genocide.’
Pro-Palestine demonstrators ambushed Ocasio-Cortez and fiance Riley Roberts outside the boutique theater Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn.
‘You refuse to call it a genocide, I need you to understand that this is not okay,’ the protester says.
‘It’s not okay that there’s a genocide happening and you’re not actively against it,’ the protester adds.
Ocasio-Cortez yells in response: ‘You’re lying!’

Visibly angry, Ocasio-Cortez ranted back at the protesters.
‘I already said that it was. And y’all are just gonna pretend that it wasn’t. Over and over again. It’s f***ed up man. And you’re not helping these people. You’re not helping them,’ she says.
‘Why won’t you say it in front of everybody, why us?’ one responds.
The protesters continue: ‘If you can’t say it, just say it. Literally. We’re just talking to you like normal people. Just say it’s a genocide. Just say it. Over 30,000 people are dead AOC, you can’t just say it for once? Just say the word, that’s it. That’s all we want you to say.’
Roberts tries to dissuade the protesters from continuing to follow her as they left the theater.
At one point, Ocasio-Cortez fumes that they’re going to take what she says ‘out of context’ and make it go viral.
Ocasio-Cortez, seen as the most prominent leftist in the House of Representatives, has been critical of Israel as recently as the weeks following the October 7 Hamas terror attack.
She joined her fellow squad Democrats in the hours following the attack in calling for ‘de-escalation and ceasefire’ and has repeated those claims, slamming both Israel and Hamas and has described the IDF’s military campaign as committing ‘war crimes.’

Ocasio-Cortez was even slammed for her Christmas post that called Israel a violent occupying force and likened Jesus to the Palestinians.
Posting on Instagram on Christmas Eve, AOC shared a photo of a child lying on a pile of rubble surrounded by wooden nativity scene icons.
Accompanying the photo, the New Yorker wrote: ‘In the story of Christmas, Christ was born in modern-day Palestine under the threat of a government engaged in a massacre of innocents.’
She went on to compare Jesus being hunted by King Herod to the ‘right-wing forces’ currently ‘violently occupying Bethlehem.’
Her post sparked a fierce backlash online with some accusing her of ‘Jew hate.’
Ocasio-Cortez’s sympathies towards Palestinians were noted as early as 2019, her first year in Congress
She claimed that Palestinians have no choice but to riot against Israel – and agreed with a radio host that the country is ‘criminal’.
