An Aussie has sparked backlash after filming himself confronting a parking inspector and calling him a foul-mouthed name.

Calum Fentie posted the footage to TikTok showing him approaching the inspector, who is working for the Northern Beaches Council, in Sydney, on Friday.

The video, which has since been removed from the social media platform and shared elsewhere, showed Mr Fentie ask the inspector what was doing.

The inspector explained he was writing a ticket for a ute that wasn’t owned by Mr Fentie as the vehicle did not have a parking permit or a ticket.

‘Did you just wake up one day and was like “I’m going to become the world’s biggest f**kwit?” Mr Fentie asked.

The confused inspector said it was ‘none of your business’ before he walked away to continue his job.

The footage was shared on social media platform X where Aussies were quick to call out Mr Fentie.

One described Mr Fentie as an ‘A grade peanut’ while praising the inspector for handling himself ‘beautifully’.

‘Guy’s just doing his job, camera guy’s a f***ing nob just bullying people,’ a second wrote.

‘Parking inspectors have the highest rates of abuse out of any workplace,’ a third wrote.

‘Leave the poor bloke alone, he’s gotta make ends meet some way.’

‘If the ticket and fine is not lawful you (or) they can contest it, but abusing the person for doing their job, trying to bait them whilst a camera is in their face is entitled a**hole behaviour,’ a fourth said.

A fifth noted Mr Fentie was ‘a bit rough’ on the parking inspector despite the general opinion of those who take on the role.

‘Some parking inspectors like the power trip but I’m sure most just needed a job and would happily throw it in for something better given the opportunity,’ they wrote.

‘What an absolute w***er. You park illegally you get a ticket, pretty simple,’ a sixth said.

Mr Fentie returned fire, saying he ‘wasn’t expecting’ the negativity and claimed the footage was ‘just a joke’.

In a video posted to TikTok on Saturday, he described those directing ‘hate’ towards him as ‘pro-vax people … that are just pro-government’.

‘If he was so worried about getting called a f***wit, you know what he would have done? He would have not got a job as a parking inspector,’ Mr Fentie said.

‘If I got a job as a parking Inspector, I would 100 per cent expect people to come up to me and call me that, but like I said before it was literally all just for a bit of a laugh.

‘I just thought it’d be funny to call him a f***wit because it’s funny, and he is.’

He then launched into a tirade against the government, saying Aussies pay for registration, insurance, parking and get fined if you don’t.

‘You guys should be complaining that we’re getting fined for parking,’ he said.

Mr Fentie said the ‘haters’ had inspired him to seek out more parking inspectors and make a series of similar videos.

‘Just for you, I’m gonna go out and find more parking inspectors to call f***wits, just so you can write more hateful comments,’ he said.
