Seven in 10 Americans believe that President Donald Trump is doing exactly what he said he would once back in the White House – for better or worse.
And many even think that Trump is doing more than they expected, according to a new CBS News/YouGov poll.
Asked whether they think the president is doing more than expected, 49 percent agreed while 41 percent say he is acting at the rate they expected. Meanwhile, only 9 percent of the 2,175 adult respondents said Trump was doing less than anticipated.
Americans are still very divided over the controversial president as he goes into his fourth week of his second, nonconsecutive White House term.
Fifty-three percent say they approve of his job so far, while 47 percent do not approve of what Trump is doing with his restored presidential powers.
In his first day back as president, Trump issued around 200 executive orders to get the ball rolling on his second administration.
Those who think Trump is doing what he said he would are happy with the actions he is taking so far to address his 2024 campaign promises.
But one area remains an issue for those polled: The ever-increasing price of goods and services in the U.S.

Two-thirds say that Trump is not doing enough to lower prices and decrease inflation, which is one of the biggest reasons why Americans reelected the Republican president.
Meanwhile, another of Trump’s main campaign promises was to address illegal immigrants and deport undocumented aliens. Only 13 percent say he isn’t doing enough so far on this front and 44 percent think he’s doing exactly what needs to be done.
Trump had the Department of Defense take ‘operational control of the border’ and has already sent thousands to help immigration officials with detection, deterrence, arrest and deportation of migrants.
He also sent hundreds of troops to Guantanamo Bay Naval Base to expand the prison there to house thousands of migrants before they are put on repatriation flights to be deported back to their countries of origin.
Additionally, placing tariffs on other countries remains a hot button issue.
The new survey taken February 5-7 and released on Sunday reveals it’s the area where most Americans think Trump is being a bit too ambitious.
Nearly half (49 percent) say Trump is doing too much when it comes to putting tariffs on other nations.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) told ABC This week on Sunday that he doesn’t think most people believed that Trump would actually do everything he said he would during his campaign for a second term.
And he branded Trump’s commitment to keeping his campaign promises as a bad thing.
‘I do think there’s a lot of people out there who didn’t think Donald Trump was going to do some of the most reckless things he said,’ Murphy told host Martha Raddatz.
He added that those who opposed Trump ‘didn’t think that the conflicted billionaires were going to have access to their personal information,’ in reference to the president’s full trust of Elon Musk to help lead him in cutting federal waste.
