Actress Julianna Margulies is being slammed for saying Palestine supporters have been ‘brainwashed to hate Jews’.

The Good Wife star made a string of offensive remarks during an appearance on the The Back Room podcast on November 1.

The 57-year-old claimed Palestine supporters are mostly made up of black and gay people who need to stop ‘spewing anti-Semitic hate’.

The bizarre rant also saw her state that black people and the LGBTQ+ community are ‘lower than the Jews’ , also suggesting that non-binary people would be ‘decapitated’ in Muslim countries.

The Jewish actress, who plays a gay journalist in The Morning Show but is married to Keith Lieberthal in real life, said she was ‘offended as a lesbian’ over the lack of support offered by the LGBTQ campaigners.

Margulies made the controversial comments at during an episode of The Back Room podcast last month

Meanwhile she hit out at black people for not supporting Israel in the same way she claimed Jews did during the American civil rights movement.

Her comments came as she denounced what she deemed a lack of support for Israel in the wake of the Hamas attack of October 7.

‘In the civil rights movement, the Jews were the ones that walked side by side with the blacks — to fight for their rights, because they know,’ Margulies said. ‘And now the black community isn’t embracing us and saying, “We stand with you the way you stood with us”.

‘Jews died for their cause. The fact that the entire black community isn’t standing with us to me says they don’t know or they have been brainwashed to hate Jews.’

She made reference to an alleged incident at Columbia University where a black lesbian group at Columbia University held a film screening which banned Jews.

The incident may have referred to a movie night held at the campus which disinvited Zionists.

‘As someone who plays a lesbian journalist on The Morning Show I’m more offended by it as a lesbian that as a Jew to be honest,’ she said.

‘I want to say to them you f***** idiots you don’t exists./ You’re even lower than the Jews.

‘A) You’re black and B) You’re gay and you’re turning your back on the people that support you.’.

She also took aim at non-binary people using they/them pronouns who are offering support to Palestine.

‘If they stepped foot in an Islamic country these people that want us to call them they/them [..] that will be the first people to be beheaded and their heads played with like a soccer ball,’ she fumed.

‘That’s who they’re supporting? Terrorists who don’t want women to have their rights, don’t want LGB- LGBTQ people get executed bar none… and this is who you’re supporting.’

She addressed reports that pro-Israel supporters could not attend a solidarity march in Washington D.C. last month after bus drivers deliberately did not show up on time to take them.

‘If that had happened to any other marginalized community, this country would be in an uproar,’ Margulies said, ‘but because it happened to the Jews, for some reason, it’s laughable.’

Writer Samah Fadil posted a TikTok supercut of some of what she considered Margulies’ most ‘unhinged’ remarks from the podcast to X where her comments were widely condemned.

One user replied saying: ‘he harshness and inherent disgust with which she hits the consonants in black and Lesbian tells you everything you need to know about where she stands, Zionism aside. Also is the claiming to be a lesbian because she…plays a lesbian on television?’

Another added: ‘Calling people anti-Semitic but she just said people are lower than jews bc they are black and queer? Did I hear that right?

‘These are the people who want black people to stand with them but the moment we disagree we are lower than them.’

Following the backlash Margulies removed comments from her post. Dailymail.com has approached her for a statement.
