Abbie Chatfield has been slammed after revealing her her biggest makeup faux pas.

The Bachelor star, 29, took to Instagram over the weekend to reflect on the style of makeup she used to wear – and sleep in.

In a sponsored video for skincare brand CeraVe, the influencer shared a photo of herself in a ‘full beat’ of thick makeup back in 2016, which she said she used to wear to her hospitality job.

‘Please tell me I’m not the only one who slept in this level of makeup,’ Abbie said in the video.

‘And I wouldn’t only sleep in it, I would also use the harshest chemicals the next morning to scrub it off as if that was going to help, but then that would just give me dermatitis under my eyes.’

The FBoy Island host then went on to say that she uses CeraVe to help her skin when she removes her makeup.

However the influencer’s fans were less than impressed, lashing her in the comments for her association with the brand.

Many suggested the brand’s parent company L’Oréal was on the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) list against Israel – and also called them out for animal testing.

‘Isn’t this BDS? And they test on animals anyway,’ the fan said.

‘Love you but boycotting L’Oréal due to their ties to Israel,’ another comment read.

‘I remember you posted ages ago saying you’re super careful about who you partner with so I’m not sure if you’re aware, but being owned by L’Oréal [CeraVe] both test on animals and have ties to Israel (yuck),’ said one political fan.

Others raised their ethical concerns about the brand’s alleged animal testing.

‘ has some of the best all natural, cruelty-free skin care products and that’s what you went with?!’ protested another.

‘What about starting a thread where people share their fav skincare from ethical small businesses?’ the fan suggested.

Another person wrote: ‘Gorgeous Abbie, CeraVe is owned by L’Oreal and whilst L’Oreal is not on the official BDS list, some pro-Palestinian activists are choosing to boycott it because the company has been described as “a warm friend to Israel.” Though I’m not sure the origins of that quote.’

At the time of writing, Abbie has not responded to any of these criticisms in her comments.

Daily Mail has reached out to Abbie Chatfield for comment.
