Abbie Chatfield has hit back at fans for calling out her new boyfriend Adam Hyde for having a bright red sunburn before undergoing cancer treatment.
The former Bachelor star, 28, shared a series of photos to Instagram on Monday from her recent holiday in the US and Mexico with the Peking Duk frontman, where he received a call from his doctor in confirming he had skin cancer.
However fans quickly commented on the post, slamming Adam for sporting a bright red sunburn during the trip.
‘Did he just have a skin cancer cut out and then get burnt red? Oooffffff,’ one person commented.
‘OMFG I feel so sore looking at that first photo,’ another said while a third wrote: ‘Tell that man to put some sunscreen on please.’

Abbie promptly hit back, claiming her boyfriend had been wearing sunscreen and a shirt throughout the day while also spending most of his time in the shade.
‘If everyone could refrain from sunburn comments, I’d appreciate it!! I obviously feel anxious obviously about Adam having skin cancer being taken out and he wasn’t trying to get burnt,’ she wrote.
‘He wore sunscreen and a shirt most of the day and we sat in the shade most of the time. I appreciate to a lot of you it’s fun and silly or you’re trying to spread awareness to wear sunscreen, but I think it’s enough comments now for awareness.’
‘It isn’t light-hearted to me unfortunately because I obviously love this man and we were obviously extremely worried about the cancer (that is now gone). It’s just making me spiral instead of enjoying photos from our trip.’

Adam revealed earlier this month that he had been diagnosed with skin cancer as he confirmed his new romance with Abbie on her It’s A Lot podcast.
‘I get a phone call from the n Skin Cancer Clinic [while I was in LA] and the receptionist said I have a procedure booked in for tomorrow due to the results,’ he explained.
‘I hadn’t been given the results so I was confused. And I thought it was serious and it was melanoma.’

Adam said he spoke to the doctor who told him he has a ‘double cancer in his neck’.
‘I’m going to get the full surgical treatment done and it’s apparently not melanoma,’ he added.
Adam then urged listeners to get their skin checked regularly.
‘I’ve got moles all over my body. I spent to much time in the sun during my youth so it’s important to get your skin checked,’ he said.
