Alert – Woman issues stark warning about using public bathrooms: ‘I already have anxiety’

Public bathrooms are not known for their cleanliness – but one woman may have found another reason to be wary when using a communal restroom.

Cynthia Dixon made the uncomfortable revelation in a recent TikTok video, focusing in on the toilet paper dispenser inside a stall in a public bathroom.

‘Let me show y’all something [about] using public restrooms,’ she said in the clip.

Cynthia, who was wearing disposable gloves, began unraveling some of the toilet paper, revealing to viewers that it is dirtier than they may think. 

To prove her point, she took the roll of toilet paper off the dispenser, showing there was a light blue liquid which appears to have spilled on the side of the roll.

‘This is what’s on the outside of the tissue,’ she warned, adding ‘blood’ or ‘urine’ can also be on the edge of the toilet roll.

‘This can be anything that someone decided to put on the side of the tissue, and you’re using it because you don’t see it,’ she added.

She then advised people to travel with their own tissues or baby wipes to use in public restrooms.

Users were both horrified and grateful for Cynthia’s public service announcement. 

‘I already have anxiety about bathrooms, you just upped it, thanks,’ one user said sarcastically. 

‘Why would you do this to me?’ complained another. ‘I thought I was doing something by pulling out hella tissue and throwing that out first before grabbing more to wipe.’

‘I thought people been learned this 10 years ago I carry my own,’ someone else replied.

It’s not the first time someone has raised concerns about the cleanliness of public toilets.

Last year, TikTok user and Walmart worker Devan, who is known as @601devan on TikTok, posted a video with public service announcement for female customers.

‘If you use public bathrooms, stop what you’re doing, and listen to this,’ he said. ‘You’re gonna see why.’

He went on to urge viewers to check inside of toilet paper dispensers and the roll itself before using it due to risks of contamination by IV drug users and their needles.

Devan accompanied his message with a picture of a toilet roll with red holes poked through it – appearing to be blood-like spots along the side.

‘This is exactly what I’m talking about,’ he said while pointing at the photo on the screen.

‘This is from needle using junkies going into the bathroom, taking that cover that’s over it off, sticking their needles in there and cleaning their needles.’

He continued and said that although you won’t see little spots of blood on all the rolls, customers should still check for pin-like holes, noting how a needle won’t always be bloody after use.

‘For all my ladies out there, you have no choice but to use toilet paper, so I suggest check your toilet paper before you sit down to use the bathroom, or just bring wipes of your own,’ he added.
