Chloe Madeley previously revealed she had ‘trust issues’ with James Haskell.

Back in 2020, the fitness fanatic daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan opened up about the difficulties which she and her husband had endured.

Chloe, 36, admitted she and James, 38, went through ‘trust issues and power struggles’ with the goal being to ‘eventually reach an understanding.’

The mother-of-one also noted that without ‘an accepted degree of push-pull’ within a relationship, ‘no couple can go the distance.’ 

Chloe’s comments have resurfaced after she and James ditched their wedding rings after he enjoyed a night out with blonde PR exec Martine Bridge, last weekend.

A reader of Chloe’s 2020 agony aunt column in The Sun explained how her boyfriend was accusing her of cheating behind his back.

Chloe responded: ‘Trust issues and power struggles are par for the course in a new relationship.

‘I know James and I had to go through it, as did most of our friends. But the goal should be to eventually reach an understanding and an accepted degree of push-pull between the two of you.

‘No couple can go the distance if that does not develop. The relationship will become toxic, and I am worried this is what is happening with you.’

It comes after James was seen whispering into the women’s ear outside Chiltern Firehouse, London, at 1.30am last week. After the picture emerged, the sportsman claimed it was only a friendly interaction.

It has emerged that James’ female companion was PR beauty Martine Bridge, who  was regularly pictured in high society magazine Tatler throughout her 20s.

Meanwhile, Chloe – who has been married to James since 2018 – appeared to give fans a clue as to how she’s feeling at the moment a she shared a cryptic message on her Instagram Stories.

The star shared a quote from writer Franz Kafka which read: ‘I was ashamed of myself when I realized that life was a costume party, and I attended with my real face.’

United: Chloe, who is the daughter of former This Morning hosts Richard and Judy, married ex-rugby player James in 2018 and the pair now share daughter Bodhi together

Chloe also shared a cryptic post to social media sharing a quote which read: ‘Staid (adj.) sedate, serious, self-restrained. (The staid butler never changed his expression no matter what happened.)’

The married couple – who share daughter Bodhi, 14 months – have not been seen together since the photos of James and Martine emerged last weekend. 

A source told MailOnline: ‘The woman in the photos with James is Martine Bridge.’

MailOnline revealed Martine is the managing director of PR firm Bridging London and was regularly pictured in high society magazine Tatler throughout her 20s. 

After marrying engineer Patrick Unwin in 2018, Martine and her ex separated following a year together.

‘She’s a hugely successful businesswoman, running her own PR firm, with plenty of celebrity and high society connections. She’s wealthy and certainly at the top of her game.

‘James and Martine have known each other for years and socialise in the same circles. 

‘They follow each other on Instagram, it seems likely they will stay connected, at least on social media.’ 

Hitting back at any suggestions of flirting or impropriety, James’ spokesman told The Sun: ‘The woman pictured is a friend of James’s group who he just met that night. They were simply having a conversation outside so there is nothing to this.’
