Middle-aged women are copying the 53-year-old star’s Queen of Gothic glam look because it is elegant but not too revealing, A-list fashion stylist Caroline Baxter says.
Online searches for Ms Winkleman’s clothes have increased by 344 per cent on Google in the past 30 days.
Ms Baxter said: ‘Claudia’s modern witch style, with dramatic black capes, floor- dragging skirts, tweeds, velvets, fingerless gloves, frilly or lacy shirts, and layering oversized chunky knitwear is the perfect way to achieve age-appropriate dressing as it’s not too clingy or revealing. It is timeless, elegant, and makes a statement. It is the ideal look for an older fashionista.’
She says Ms Winkleman’s power dressing in dark colours is demystifying the stereotype of the witch and is empowering older women.
The mother-of-three’s outfits complement the rugged Scottish countryside the show is set in but are attainable.

Ms Baxter said: ‘She uses darker colours, capes and covers up her body. It really sets her apart from other primetime presenters. She looks really chic with her dark hair, white lipstick and kohl-lined eyes. She is a hot witch.’
She added: ‘A lot of designers from last season were weaving American gothic fairy stories into their runway shows because fashion has got darker in terms of their storytelling with the economic and political climate.
‘Claudia is an intelligent strategic dresser – she has her finger on the pulse.’
Ms Winkleman’s stylist is Sinead McKeefry, who mixes luxury British labels with high street fashion.
