Police are hunting for a gang of six female shoplifters after £5,000 worth of perfume, jewellery and clothes were stolen from posh shops across Yorkshire, including Jo Malone.

The women are said to be operating in two separate groups and are not linked to one another but have made off with hundreds of pounds of luxury items.

North Yorkshire Police say the first theft took place at a business in Ingleton. On January 10, at around 12.15pm, a large number of items were stolen from the business. This included clothing and jewellery with an estimated value of around £5,000.

North Yorkshire Police said: ‘Do you recognise these women? We’ve issued this CCTV of people we would like to speak to, following a theft from a business in Ingleton.

‘It happened on 10 January 2025, at about 12.15pm, and involved a large number of items being stolen, including clothing and jewellery, with an estimated value of around £5,000.’

The second crime took place at 12.50pm on December 14, 2024, when perfume was stolen from Jo Malone in Stonegate in York.

Police have issued CCTV images of three more women they would like to speak to following the shoplifting incident.

North Yorkshire Police said: ‘We’ve issued this CCTV of three women we would like to speak to, following a theft in York.

‘It happened at about 12.50pm on 14 December 2024, at Jo Malone on Stonegate, and involved the theft of fragrances.

‘Please contact us if you recognise the people pictured on CCTV, as they may have information that will assist our investigation.’
