The View co-stars Joy Behar and Whoopi Goldberg had a disagreement on Tuesday’s show after Behar trashed Carrie Underwood for agreeing to perform at Donald Trump’s inaugural.
Underwood, 41, has defended her decision to perform for the new administration, saying she loves America and was ‘humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity.’
Behar was having none of Underwood’s patriotism, claiming she was honoring Trump after he was convicted in his hush money trial in New York.
‘She says ‘I love our country.’ How do you love your country and support and normalize somebody who was a convicted felon who really wants to destroy the country, in my opinion? I don’t understand how you say you love your country at the same time that you normalize this convicted felon,’ she said.
Perhaps surprisingly, Behar received pushback from the entire rest of the reliably liberal panel, including from co-host Goldberg.
She even got in a slight reference to the controversy of MSNBC co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski attempting to make peace with Trump.
‘People do what they do for whatever reasons. It’s like Joe and Mika. They felt that’s what they needed to do and I got to stand behind them, you know and I stand behind her,’ the actress said.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, a former Trump White House employee, also disagreed with Behar.

”I would not be the person to say don’t do it, because I believe in free speech and everything about it. I personally would not do it. No one’s asked me, but that’s another story,’ she said.
Griffin and liberal Sunny Hostin were mostly in agreement that they wouldn’t personally show up but defended Underwood.
‘I think art is art, and, you know, you have a right to perform where you want to perform. I agree with you, I can’t sing a lick and I have not been asked, but if I were asked, it would be a hard no,’ Hostin said.
Underwood has said she is ‘honored’ and ‘humbled’ to sing at Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration in a statement addressing her upcoming controversial performance.
‘I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,’ Underwood, 41, said in a statement obtained by USA Today.
‘I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.’

As one fan put it: ‘Carrie’s about to have the whole country talking. Iconic move or controversial queen?’
One person said: ‘Disgusting, thought she had morals. It was all a sham,’ while another thanked her via X, formerly Twitter.
Underwood is set to perform the song on January 20th with The Armed Forces Chorus and The United States Naval Academy Glee Club after the presidential oath of office is administered to Trump by the Chief of Justice of the United States.
In 2019, Carrie spoke to The Guardian, where she said that she likes to ‘stay far out of politics if possible, at least in public, because nobody wins.’
She added: ‘It’s crazy. Everybody tries to sum everything up and put a bow on it, like it’s black and white. And it’s not like that.’
The inauguration is set to take place at noon on January 20, 2025.
