alert-–-all-the-ritzy-towns-stars-like-heidi-montag-have-fled-to-after-fires-ravage-los-angelesAlert – All the ritzy towns stars like Heidi Montag have fled to after fires ravage Los Angeles

Stars have fled Los Angeles in droves as the fires consume the Southern California landscape.

So far Billy Crystal, Miles Teller, Anna Faris, Mandy Moore, Ricki Lake, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Joshua Jackson and Paris Hilton have seen their pads go up in flames.

Now many famous residents have ditched Los Angeles like Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti to hit some laid-back destinations in hopes of finding temporary comfort.

One of the places many luminaries like Lala Kent have run to is Palm Springs, which is about a two hour drive from Los Angeles. The Kardashian family owns a home in Palm Springs and may be seeking shelter there as fires rage near their Calabasas neighborhood.

There are plenty of resort there that are busy like the Thompson and The Colony Palms. Palm Springs has plenty of swimming pools, golf courses and spas to make one feel at ease.

Another is Santa Barbara, over an hour north of LA. That is where Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are staying after their Pacific Palisades home burned down.

Ellen DeGeneres and Jaclyn Smith are in nearby Montecito.

Then some stars like Heidi Klum are on dream vacations. The model, who has a home in the Palisades area, is in St Barts with husband Tom Kaulitz.

Disneyland in Anaheim, California is packed with people distracting themselves from devastation. They are enjoying rides like Pirates Of The Caribbean and dining on snacks like hot dogs and ice cream.

It is full of families who evacuated the Los Angeles area during the horrific fires and want to distract their children from the immense losses and heartbreak.

‘I went there yesterday and there were tons of people, there were lines everywhere and everyone seemed thrilled to be at the Happiest Place on Earth,’ said a park-goer to DailyMail.com.

And it is safe. That is because Disneyland is an hour drive south of the Pacific Palisades, where the fires are at their worst.

The park is so far from the epicenter that smoke is not an issue and the air quality is relatively decent.

However, the winds were so bad as of Monday in Southern California, that the fireworks show at Disneyland was canceled.

This comes just as the Disney company pledges $15M toward the victims of the fires.

On January 10, Disney said they were committing $15 million for initial and immediate response and rebuilding efforts.

‘We will be supporting vital organizations offering essential services on the ground, including the American Red Cross, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, among others.

‘Additionally, we’ve been working around the clock to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our employees, many of whom have been impacted by these fires, and we intend to provide further resources to our Employee Relief Fund to help those facing hardship as a result of this crisis,’ a note said..

Beyond critical relief efforts, they will be ‘working closely with the business community to find ways to support important rebuilding efforts in the region.’

‘As this tragedy continues to unfold, The Walt Disney Company is committed to supporting our community and our employees as we all work together to recover and rebuild from this unbelievable devastation,’ said Bob Iger, CEO, The Walt Disney Company.

‘Walt Disney came to Los Angeles with little more than his limitless imagination, and it was here that he chose to make his home, pursue his dreams, and create extraordinary storytelling that means so much to so many people around the world. We are proud to provide assistance to this resilient and vibrant community in this moment of need.’

‘We want to express our overwhelming gratitude to the heroic firefighters and first responders from across the area and around the country whose unbelievable courage and professionalism have been a source of tremendous encouragement and pride this week. Likewise, we are grateful for the outstanding local reporters at KABC and elsewhere who have been a vital resource to all,’ a press release said.

‘While the fires continue to rage and the full extent of the damage won’t be understood for some time, our hearts are with everyone across Southern California who has been affected by the destructive fires, and we urge residents to remain vigilant and follow safety guidance from local officials. This community’s strength is rooted in its people, and we are proud to be a part of it and offer our support.’

Meanwhile, Disneyland officials decided to cancel the theme park’s famous fireworks show as windy weather pushed through the Anaheim area Sunday night.

Park visitor Jensen Roseboom from Missoula, Montana, said the winds didn’t keep him from getting on any rides but did start to pick up later in the evening.

‘Only major change that happened was the park made a choice to not do the fireworks just due to the risk of something going off course due to the wind,’ Roseboom said.

Oscar Noyola of Fullerton also said the winds picked up when the show was canceled but also noticed something else about the park Sunday.

‘There’s nobody in the park over here … I think it was because of the fires. Because nobody was trying to come … no lines,’ Noyola said.

The 10-minute fireworks show is dependent on weather conditions and is subject to change or cancellation, Disneyland states on its website.
