A woman has died after the car she was a passenger in crashed into a house in Sydney, while the male driver sustained serious injuries but survived the crash.
The horrific crash took place on Elliott Street, Belfield, at about 10.30am on Monday morning.
Fire and Rescue NSW officers rescued a male driver, 82, trapped inside the wreckage and administered first aid on the front lawn of the property.
The female passenger tragically died from her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male driver, who sustained serious injuries, was rushed to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Punchbowl Road, which is near the crash site, remains closed in both directions.
Police are working to determine the cause of the collision.
