Barry Keoghan’s scars were visible on his arm as he filmed dirt bike scenes for his latest film, Crime 101, in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

The actor, 32, who recently split from Sabrina Carpenter, has been throwing himself into filming the Bart Layton movie.

Dressed in a leather and mesh waistcoat, Barry’s scar which runs down the length on his arm was visible.

In 2022, Barry was struck down with necrotising fasciitis, also known as the ‘flesh-eating disease’, which is a rare and life-threatening infection that can happen if a wound gets infected.

Before Barry started filming his 2022 film The Banshees of Inisherin, he was hospitalised with the illness, with doctors considering amputating his arm at the time as a means of treatment.

Details for Crime 101 are being kept tightly under wraps, but the original short story ‘follows high-level jewel thefts taking place up and down the Pacific Coast that police have linked to Colombian cartels.’

He will star alongside Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, and Mark Ruffalo in the film, which is set to be released in 2025.

The Banshees of Inisherin director Martin McDonagh previously recalled visiting Barry in hospital as he battled the infection.

Martin told the February issue of GQ: ‘I’m not sure if he was on a lot of meds, but he seemed to shrug it off.

‘We were only about four days out from shooting, and his arm was puffed up. But he was like, “Yeah, no, I’m going to be fine—I’ll see you on Tuesday”.’

However, Martin added: ‘I went to the hospital thinking, s**t is he going to die? Let alone, is he going to make the movie. But I came out of there energised and looking forward to it.”

Last month, Barry said he wanted to ‘lay bare the scars that have shaped him – inside and out’ and showed off a scar on his wrist for a photoshoot with renowned photographer Rankin.

Barry revealed it had left him feeling ’emotional’ as he explained: ‘I won’t go into how I got this scar, but I’ve got a scar that’s like a millimetre away from my main vein on my left arm.’

Discussing the scar, which is visible in the cover picture in which he wears a bracelet saying ‘Debbie’, he went on: ‘I waited to do this with [photographer Rankin] to show that. You know, it just felt right.’

Barry – whose mother Debbie died from a heroin overdose when he was 12 – added: ‘On one wrist you’ve got my mum’s name and then on the other wrist you’ve got this constant reminder, this scar.

‘[Rankin and I] both looked at each other and went, “Wow! That’s it.”‘

Barry recently deleted his social media in the wake of his split from singer Sabrina.

The actor was hit with allegations he had cheated on the Espresso hitmaker with OnlyFans influencer Breckie Hill.

The actor later deactivated his Instagram entirely and posted a lengthy statement on his verified X account, saying his name had been ‘dragged across the internet.’

He said he deactivated his Instagram because he could no longer, ‘let this stuff distract from my family and work,’ though he didn’t confirm or deny the cheating allegations.

Barry went on: ‘I have to respond now because it’s getting to a place where there are too many lines being crossed.’

‘I deactivated my account because I can no longer let this stuff distract from my family and my work. The messages I have received no person should ever have to read them. Absolute lies, hatred, disgusting commentary about my appearance, character, how I am as a parent and every other inhumane thing you can imagine.’

Breckie denied rumours she had a romance with Barry as she released the statement: ‘To put it simply for you all, no, I did not get with Barry.

‘I have never even encountered this man in my life. The only time I’ve seen him is on my TV screen from watching Saltburn.’
